Politics effects all of our lives and 2011 will be a tough year for all but a priveleged few.

Political Poem 2011

The students dreamed of a learning seat
Now they're fighting on the streets
I don't condone this violent act
But this seems such a one-sided pact.

The Liberals put the Conservatives in charge
Now together they're like burgulars at large
The Con-Dems seems the right name
It's back to the Maggie years of pain.

Cuts to sixth form pupils pay
I guess they'll lose the urge to stay
As Mum and Dad worry about unstable careers
Snowbound pensioners face heating fears.

Disabled centres are not spared the cuts
While bankers renew their bonus glut
The last Labour years are not blame free
Marred with scandal, greed and a spending spree.

So here we are, our Youth Clubs shut down
On the streets young teenagers will clown
Less community services to hear their voice
Misbehaviour and crime may be their new choice.

With falling Police numbers and Hospital wards under threat
Something tells me we've more to face yet
Libraries too face the inevitable axe
Only Hitler burnt books as humanity he attacked.

Whilst the bankers give themselves a pat on the back
It seems Civil Servants are scapegoat under attack
New Year brings a V.A.T hike
My petrol bill has a vertical spike.

This proud country drowning in debt
Has yet to shake-off the bankers bet
They cunningly spread the misery of toxic decisions
Leaving a wake of cuts with precision.

The British stiff upper lip will get us through
But unless you're Super Rich you will feel blue
As we dive head-first into the New Year
It's not just the pay freeze we need to fear.

The Post Office again under threat
Has this Government found a buyer yet?
Strikes in the Spring have been suggested
The Union members once again tested.

So let us get back to our Grand-parent's days
When who caused the problem ultimatley pays
No more jobs for the boys, the Fat Cats must learn
It never was Their money to burn.

Brilliant manner to describe the current situation in England; I truly felt and (have seen) what was described in these lines.
