I am beginning to have realisations of my own weight issues. Mainly my gut. I must admit I love my food. My wife is an excellent cook and I very much enjoy eating out. I am partial to pan Asian buffets of which I find a delight as well as Lebanese. I also encounter slight respiratory symptoms after exercise. But I know, when the bell rings, it is my wake up call to reduce my intake and take my home gym to task.

How do you fight the war on portion proportion...?

In the war of proportion,
We eat far too big a portion,
When we load our dinner plate,
Pretending to create,
Beautifully arranged cuisine.

Our eyes they deny
The calories so high
That make up our intake
And it's no mistake,
For they tend to want what they've seen.

Fats, sugars and cream,
Are living the dream,
Teasing us more and more,
As inside they sit and store,
Creating a body so obscene.

Oversized clothing, companies make,
In order to ease the visual heartache.
So they bear in mind the gargantuan size,
Which they often need to revise,
In the way of size, shape, colour and sheen.

The obese problem is here,
And none seem to care,
Enough, to win the fight,
So we all just as well might,
Eat till we burst our spleen.

My poetry tend to veer towards feelings of emotion. Love. Sex. Desire. Most of my verses will reflect these sentiments as I mainly write straight from the heart. 31 Jan 15.
