Power To Remain Calm

The power to remain calm has been made available to us by the divine grace of our Creator. It behooves us as individual citizens on the planet to be willing to follow the instructions He has given us in order to access that power.

Discipline And Instruction

Blessed, happy, fortunate, to be envied is the person whom the Lord disciplines and instructs, and teaches out of His law. He is given power to keep himself calm in the days of adversity. This is according to information found in our Creator's Wonderful Book of Teaching on Life and Love in Psalm 94, The Amplified Bible

Don't Be Discouraged

We have a right to be encouraged ~ seeing that this power is available to us to KEEP OURSELVES CALM ~ in the days of adversity. That would be RIGHT NOW or whenever you need it. It's a wonderful thing ~ to be able to REMAIN CALM when your flesh wants to 'have a fit' ~of carnality.

Don't Fly Off The Handle ~ Change The Scenery

We do not have to go into a rage, fly off the handle, give someone a piece of our mind, use profanity, or engage in violent behavior. There is power available to us to keep ourselves calm. We need to lay aside the weights, and choose our words carefully so that we're able to stay calm and be focused.

Find A Quiet Spot And Listen To Your Creator

We are able to access this power by spending quality, undisturbed time daily ~ with our Heavenly Father ~ the Creator of the universe ~ LISTENING TO HIM SPEAK TO OUR HEARTS.

Fix Your Thoughts

Sometimes ~ we need to pause and think about what it is that we've been spending an enormous amount of time thinking about and what generally causes us to be upset. We do not have to allow our emotions to control our behavior. In our Creator's Wonderful Book of Teaching on Life and Love, we find this admonition in the fourth chapter of the New Testament Book of Philippians:

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

"Power makes us calm."

I guess this is true if it is the positive power of love living through us empowering us with its infinite calmness.

Negative power might just disturb us more.

I guess you are of course talking about positive power here Helen.

Power was an interesting word to use here Helen. It made me think up about it, always a sign of a good article!

Thanks ~ Spirited ~ for taking the time to read and share your gracious comments. The title for this article was inspired by Psalm 94:12-14 Amplified Bible, which says:
"Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man whom You discipline and instruct, O Lord, and teach out of Your law. That you may give him power to keep himself calm in the days of adversity, until the pit of destruction is dug for the wicked. For the Lord will not cast off nor spurn His people, neither will He abandon His heritage. For justice will return to the righteous, and all the upright in heart will follow it."

The emphasis here is HE GIVES US THE POWER ~ to remain calm. It's up to us to activate that power or let it lie dormant within us. Abundant blessings to you.

Thank you dear Helen for this timely reminder that we all need to get alone with the Lord when life ruffles our feathers , so to speak .
Only He has the power to calm the troubled waters of our souls , and it truly does behoove us to take time out and not react wrongly when life around us is unsettling .
God bless you with His calm and peace today ..
with love Stella ><

When our intentions are honorable and right - that none needs to tell us - we can face any adversity. The Creator through nature gives almost everything free - what we are fighting for is stoked by greed. Thanks Helen for this uplifting share - siva

So true ~ Siva. Thanks for your reading and commenting. Seemingly ~ the greedy ones usually have neither honorable nor right intentions for any sustained period of time.

My prayer is that God will bless you richly ~ Siva ~ as you give Him your whole heart.

Yes Helen, I too find David's words to be uplifting in every way. I am teaching the Old Testament in Sunday School to ten year olds. A place I once thought I would never be...He works in strange ways.
