Pumpkins have feelings too

This is a Halloween poem about a little pumpkin that wants to grow big and strong. Pumpkins do have feelings as this poem will show.

Where it all begins

A pumpkin is planted on a warm summer day
The sun comes out and bathes the little pumpkin in the light of day.
He grows bigger each and every day.
Hoping to be picked to light the way.

Wishes and Dreams

The pumpkin wishes and dreams with all his might.
To be the biggest pumpkin for the special night.
He doesn't want to end up as a piece of pie.
He wants to make the grade and light the way.

Trick or Treat

He will stand tall.
He will stand proud.
He will be the happiest pumpkin in town.
Lighting the way as the children go on their way.

Happy Halloween!

Creation is competition, survival of the fittest, and pumpkins are also drawn (dragged?) into this exciting arena! I do hope every pumpkin is a winner like we each are as it is up to us to decide than be judged by others. In fact, I can feel the vibrations when I sincerely acknowledge the presence of animate and even those we consider inanimate.

Happy Halloween Nancy that I have also been celebrating for the past five years at AC, YCN and now at Wikinut! Life should be full of celebrations and even at death we should be given a send off worthy of a celebrated life - mission accomplished! siva

Utah Jay, you are such a dear friend. I've been wondering if my fellow writers on this site would like my Halloween fun and I must say I believe they do. I've been holding back a little because I have many fun things to post but I want to make sure everyone is open to having some fun. I am considering writing children books because of the great comments I have had on this site. Smiles to you!

Ha! I can imagine that a poor pumpkin might not want to be eaten up, but rather to give light on a scary night.
