Race to Death

Speed Kills! Some drivers think that accidents only happen to other people, and never them. This is often the belief of teens who don't realize that accidents can happen anytime, any place and to anyone.

Race to Death

John's parents bought him a new red sports car
Little did they know he would not drive it too far
John always picked up girls and went out boozing
Cops often stopped him while they were cruising

That red sports car was modified and rimmed
Speakers fine tuned, glass tinted and dimmed
John's friends challenged him to a racing contest
To see who was qualified to be known as the best

Out on the highway, a great risk John did take
Foot glued to the gas pedal, ignoring the brake
Then around a corner, John ran out of his luck
He crashed head-on into an 18 wheeler truck

John's parents say he cruises the highway to Heaven
He was their only young son, barely ten and seven
Others say John is driving on the road to Hell
The reckless way he drove, only time will tell

One does get carried away - a rush of blood leading to blood all around. Many pay a high price indeed for recklessness - siva

"A rush of blood leading to blood all around" - you described it nicely Siva. Thanks for reviewing this story in a poem. Michelle

If only you all study …the human mind is fully grown...only when one is eighteen …All accidents happen in life …road rage...sexy ones …rapes and …all which young kids challenge other younger ones …from 16 to 18 ..are at worst----- had the challenge been thrown at 19 …the guys would know …blindness to intelligence …is no show ….all accidents could be averted---- if all thoughtful minds had not been so perverted …so as to ignore how much kids know ….this much and no more ----but 16 to 18 take kids as unsure
