Have you you ever looked into a new baby's eyes and sensed an old soul looking back at you? Reincarnation is widely accepted in varied religions, and provides a sense of continuity of the soul..the ongoing journey absorbing life's lessons before returning to its spiritual home... A Spiritual reflection by Songbird B.

If We Knew We Would Return..

Close my eyes, count down from 10,
Let the darkness cloud my mind.
Counting years, I'm slipping back..
from birth into another time.

Clothes that feel so real to me..
Faces, people that I know..
Voices, details flood my mind,
as further back I seem to go..

To Face The Lesons To Be Taught..

Noises, odours fill my senses..
Lives somehow that I have known..
The body dies, the soul's eternal,
returning to its spiritual home..

Hard lessons learned through many lifetimes,
touch briefly other souls I've met..
Regression stirs fragmented memories..
yet in each lifetime, we forget.

Would It Change How We Live Now?

So let me hear you call me back..
back to the present, and this room..
But leave impressions I have witnessed,
don't let them fade away too soon..

Reincarnation makes you think..
Our attitude we might improve,
if we knew that we were coming back,
would we change what we now do?

Reincarnation..Do You Believe?

For some, this is their core belief,
each lifetime something new is taught..
Our soul's progress through what we learn,
the biggest lessons are hard fought.

Would this perhaps change how we view,
what we leave behind each time?
Accountability within our life..
If death was not the final line..

Rebirth..The Cycle Begins Once More..

To be reborn, a clean new slate..
Once more the cycle can revolve.
This gift from God, this wondrous child..
that yet retains a soul of old.

Perhaps they'll learn what we did not..
as birth and death somehow rotate.
Wisdom gained, may save us yet,
if truth be told we reincarnate.

Welcome.

We must be kind to others and to the earth because reincarnation could be real.
When she was younger my step daughter told her mom she remembered being air.

It seems to be children below the age of 5 that can surprise us with the strangest of remarks about a previous life or even a time before life Mark, so I wouldn't be surprised. The more I look into reincarnation, the more plausible it seems. The greatest gift that we can ever have is an open mind.. We are now aware just how much damage we have done to this planet, I only hope that souls returning will keep that knowledge and use it wiser than we have so far.. We are becoming more aware spiritually, but we still have a long way to go my friend. I really appreciate your comment and for moderating this article Mark. I hope that you are back to full health again..\0/x

Ah bless you C.D..I am a great believer in life after death as some of my previous links will show, and so it doesn't take a vast stretch to accept reincarnation could occur. I recall saying to my husband one day when we were travelling on a bus, that I used to drive one myself. I never have, but it resonated so deeply that I knew somehow I had gone through that experience at some time..but it certainly wasn't this lifetime so who knows? I would like to think that our paths have crossed my friend..\0/x

Dear Anisha, you just won't take the hint will you my friend? I will continue to delete any and all poetry you add to my pages. As a guest, you take your liberties too far. You are a truly gifted poet, but show scant respect for the writers who have respected you in the past. Forgive me if my tone seems harsh, but you are trying my patience..

I agree with you and delete all her stuff too...it might be nice if she found a page where she could write herself and stop bothering us...

Concept is outdated, the new concept is everything happens in this day and age for soulful rretribution until one is ready to return home to Creation.
Check with the spiritual masters who have all the access to the Akashic Records who will tell you about the transition into rainbow crystals from Indigos and the creation of new souls with no chance of reincarnation unless supreme powers allow it in certain cases and those chances are dependent on the life you lead.

Well at least this time Ayanna you are adding a relevant comment and that is appreciated. As to concept, every one is entitled to their own point of view..Thank you for enlightening us with yours.

this is a wonderful post love and so true...our souls re-embody again and again until we have cleared all our karmic debts and initiated back into the Soul realm, the 27 realms above soul and into God..a lot of work but many of us have been around a long long long time (over 400 billion some)
lots of love...cx

Beautiful soul understanding on reincarnation, dear Songbird B.

As we are reborn we begin anew, that is correct in correcting the mistakes of the past. Not all lessons are new, and likewise because of negative karma to be dealt with, most come back with baggage and some even as the smallest children have a disposition of bullying others.

Love you!

Anyone who even remotely believes in reincarnation would be wise to be kind to others and to the earth itself. We cannot keep overpopulating the earth, polluting the earth, and raping the earth, and expect it to be fine for future generations.

That is exactly the point I was trying to put across with this poem Mark. Whilst man has so much greed and power he is destroying the very thing he needs to look after. Let us hope that through our lifetimes we gain the wisdom to let this planet heal and renew. \0/x

When our son Taylor was just under three years old he said to me "Daddy, do you remember the last time?" I replied "The last time?" HE said "The last time. When we were married. And it snowed there. Do you remember?"

Reincarnation is the only belief that makes sense.

Great star page. Fascinating video.

Oh thank you Steve, what a great comment! We think we understand so much, yet this shows us how little we really know. It is said group souls reincarnate together, but I guess if we recalled too much of our past lives, we wouldn't be receptive to what we must learn this time around.. Glad you found the video informative my friend..\0/x

A topic that is ever relevant Songbird and you have brought it up so well. I have had few deja vu experiences but we tend to brush them off especially as we get older and get used to the worldly ways. I think of young lives lost in wars and accidents and do believe they yearn to return when the soul leaves the body; of course, some may feel no point as this place is not worth a second attempt. But if the yearnings are very strong there could be a way to get in. Also the urge the to repay for past sins - siva

Amen SongbirdB ... a truly lovely poem, and thoroughly deserving of it's star rating. As for me? I don't believe in reincarnation. On the contrary, I KNOW it is fundamental to our eternal spiritual journey.

My dear Songbird, I believed in reincarnation before I had heard the word. I have no memories of a past life but even as a child I 'knew' that I had lived before coming here. I love the picture of the baby with the tag 'from God', that's exactly the way I feel about it. I think there is an 'in between' time and when we leave here we are truly going home, until we are ready to 'go out' again.
I love the way you have written this.

This was wonderfully written. As a child of five, I asked my grandfather about taking me to the underground school when I was very little. He smiled and said, “I am the oldest one you know now, but it was another old one who took you, in another place and another time.”
My grandfather, father and I had been sitting under an old persimmon tree that the family called the Learning Tree. It got its name because you had to wait patiently for the fruit to ripen or its taste would pucker up your mouth.
My father, sitting under the tree with us, told me that we would talk about this, as I got older, but that we lived many lives as many people, trying to remember the lessons – sometimes about the persimmon tree.
Not what one might expect from a family in rural America in the 1952. ~Marilyn

Thank you for this Songbird! I actually read it some days ago, but didn't leave a comment. I found it very thought provoking! :) I used to think thar reincarnation was a terrifying idea....you know, the fear that I might come back as an animal and be stuck inside a body, unable to speak etc....but I am beginning to see something very different, and peaceful in the idea! :)
