When you begin writing a poem, you never know how it'll end... It can be most surprising and I just wrote one that surprised me totally. When I finished it and read it, I knew, it was inspired by a book...

Surprised and Inspired! :)

Last Sunday, I finished reading the famous love story, The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks.

It's such a beautiful bittersweet story that warms our heart and eyes alike...and make you love yours more...and make you want to be loved more... It's a poetically woven love story that teaches, only love remains to give you memories when you are grey and old and alone... ♥

When you begin writing a poem, you never know how it'll end... It can be most surprising and I just wrote one that surprised me totally. When I finished it and read it, I knew, it was inspired by the book 'The Notebook' by Nick Sparks. :) What might be going through Allie's thoughts as she spents her time with Noah, not able to remember who he is...?

After 49 years of love and marriage, Noah and Allie succumb to angst of old age. But their love is in tact... And at 78, Allie is an Alzheimer's Patient, not even able to remember her one and only true love, Noah Calhoun, who even at 80 keeps his love and passion for Allie in the same way he had it at 17 when he met her.

Every day at the care center, he reads The Notebook to his beloved Allie, the story of their love from beginning to end, craving for a miracle, craving for her voice calling him "Noah" again... And it happens, for a fleeting but precious moment... :)

Remembering...

I see the silver creek with our canoe,
And dewdrops where the sun shines,
And the stars from the diamond mines,
And a million smiles despite the lines,
All in your eyes that have remained so...

I hear the waters when you row in chime,
And the songs of the bloom of lovely spring,
And the melodies that our memories bring,
And the tunes of love in every blessed thing,
And a fine love story from a bygone time...

I feel the breeze bring my lover's touch,
And a petal's gentleness in your kiss,
And a raindrop's caress in my bliss,
And dreams coming, too good to miss,
All in your closeness, I crave so much...

I remember the times you held me close,
And moments that senility can't steal,
And tender whispers that I still can feel,
And promises that were always real,
Even as I try fighting memory loss...
