This poem explores a feeling of entrapment, deprivation from love, depression, but with the hope of a rescue. This poem was inspired by true events

Rescue Me

Like a rose trapped in the arms of a cultured savage
Clustered in a choke by the ambiguity of his wealth
Subdued by the opulence of his power
Silenced by the strength of his strength
I am trapped in a trap
But like the bravery of Robin in the hood
Or a sword with the shimmer of Excalibur
And the gallantry of he who is in control of it
Save me from their hands
Oh! Rescue me

I have been suppressed by those who from I come
Oppressed by pressure which they bestow upon me
Imprisoned by the boundaries they build around me
But in sleep, I shut my eyes to the beam of a gleam
The fine of the shine of the shimmer of sovereignty
The royalty of his robe on a startling stallion
But I awake to the bars that still surround me
To tell me my rescue, not but a dream
But dreams do come true
So rescue me

If you are a count, I bid then to be your countess
Creep on my walls like a vampire with claws
Your batted wings to the winds take heed
On your back, bear my bosoms
Away carry me to your castle
Rescue me
For like a romantic tale of two lovers
Run away with me to the wild blue yonder
And if I be so deep asleep
Like the fairy tale of beauty in sleep
Be my prince and break the spell
Rescue me
