My poem " Kid, stand on your own " was published on 06-Mar-2011.

Now, I'm surprised to see that this poem has been receiving many views per day recently.

Page stats of my poem "Kid, stand on your own..."

My poem Kid, stand on your own had 22 page views on the day it was published, 4 on 07-04-2011 and 9 on 08-04-2011. And then there were 0 to 6 views per day until 07-12-2012.

I like my poem, but I was not knowing someone really liked it.

And the page views may not represent the 'likes' of the readers.

As we know, very few people appreciate and read poetry.

But here is the surprise.

Though very few like poetry, there was a sudden rise in the page views my poem received after two years of gestation on the wikinut website.

On 08-12-2012 it had 14 views, and on the next day they peaked to 120 and fell to 15 on 10-12-2012 and then to 0 on 11-12-2012.

Look at the peaked page views 12 Mar to 5 Apr 2013

Is it not really surprising?

Can anyone tell be how this would have happened?

The number of views rose to as high as 121 and then came down to mere 2 views.

Please discuss your views.

I find that if an article gets popular on a site such as Facebook it can circulate for a while then suddenly seem to vanish.
Indeed poems have a harder time than fact based articles because people are spending more time looking up fact based articles daily.

don't know rath. but my views
were brilliant over similar dates. I got 857 views between 2 of my poems on 30th March. My overall stats stayed high until 3rd april then dropped right down again.
Must have been a blitz of traffic coming from somewhere for a week.
By the way, I got my very first wikinut comment from you..
for my pugcheekawawa. meant a lot,
thank you my friend

I've had similar weird patterns of views, and I can't for the life of me figure any of them out. Nice post Rarthnashikamani. Thank you.

Thanks for sharing this, as I was wondering the same thing. The view patterns are quite astonishing sometimes. Nice to see you posting here again...your posts here seems as infrequent as my own, but we're still happily part of the Wikinut family. ;)

Just to say again concerning these amazing stats ...I was so bemused I wrote a poem about them .the mind boggles as to how they are worked out each day . But, if it keeps someone employed and amused then we wouldn't want to be the ones to spoil their fun , now would we ???
have a happy day and God bless you

Some might have discovered the inherent beauty in the poem a bit late. No matter what it is be happy and keep writing.
