Rolexes and White Dresses

Rolexes and White Dresses

Rolexes
Tick and tock.

And White Dresses
Stay in the closet.
Unused.

As the Sun
Traverses
The Window Panes.

Guaranteed
The Moon
Will Come.

Like the Stars
In the East, West
South and North.

But where is North
In this Weather?

And these White Dresses
Are Stainless
And Grander than
The One Before.

But they gather dust
Now
In the closet.

Across from them
Rolexes keep ticking
Without a flinch.

Shiny
Beautiful
Lavish
Expensive.

But they’re
No Exception
To Time Itself.

Time
Wears itself Out.

As the Sun
And Moon
Traverse the Windowpanes.

And Musical Notes
Play
Sad
Slow
Tunes.

And if Eve taught Adam
Where is Eve
In this Weather?

The Bedroom
Is uncomfortable.

Rolexes
Tick.

On a
Bedside table

White Dresses
Gather Dust.

From hither
They have come.
