it is the Venice of the east. the blue sea adorned the land and lull it always in its passionate waves. in my childhood the sea was honoured with a bridge made of cast iron. but now it is ruined and decanted a painful memory

Sea bridge

SEA BRIDGE

We are standing on the bridge.
It was of thick good woods and steel
The iron reapers, sliding were
Leading the way;
Rusted old lamp posts
Cast its shadow on us.

In this dusk, it is seeing
The gray sea moves-
In its wrinkles!
Little lamps wave some far.
They were small boats.
Netting fishes

It was an old port
Ships sailed day by day.
Carried wheat and rice- a lot!
Workers lived here in group

Rails crossed the main roads
Reached the tall ware house!
Barges start from the foot
Of the bridge to the sea!
It was a shallow coast.

Ships anchored a little far.
As a floating palace there!
At night we seen it shined.
In dimming, dashing lights.

Barges carried full of load
Cranes pick it up
As a seagull catch a fish,
Put the sacks on the trolleys well.

We were children
Not allowed to climb the bridge.
Guards in their twisted
Moustache, we fear them.

Municipal siren warns time always.
The officers changed many times.
Elections passed many
Terms!
We expect every time.
We dream the olden days.
Nothing happened yet at all.
Ha! We lost.
All are a wish.

At now we are grown up.
But there is no ship in the sea.
No crowd of people here.

No light is shining it.
No one waiting for a job!
They put a board on it
Caution! Bridge is in danger!

In this dusk, in my loneliness!
I can see the revolving light,
From the tallest light house!
It remember again me,
“You lost your dreams and days”
