An introduction to upcoming blogs and their general focus on celebrity crushes and the psychology of obsession and the distant-impersonal-yet-personal relationship to celebrities.

Seeds have been planted and are starting to grow.

This grand idea is percolating and forming in my head.

Where did it begin? Was it in my tween years, collecting Tiger Beat magazines and practicing my kissing skills on the posters on the wall of my room?

Was it the many boyfriends and others I experienced teenage romance and sexuality with, so many first times and so many strange and scary and exciting times?

Was it possible years of suppressed sexuality?

Was it last year’s first try at creating an elaborate grant proposal for an art show, and just barely missing the deadline?

Has it been the amount of internet media I’ve been letting into my consciousness these past several months (more than ever before, really)?

Is it just the positioning of the astral bodies in relation to my humble spot here on mother Earth?

Whatever the reason, wherever the seeds were first sprinkled and quietly or loudly watered to fecundity, I am here now to present to you my writings on a very interesting subject. Celebrity crushes.

As a person who values integrity, wholeness, honesty, and authenticity very greatly in my relationships and in all areas of my life, the subject of celebrity crushes is truly a weird one. How could it be that a person such as myself experienced such a grand magnitude of these impersonal romantic and sexual desires as an adolescent – and recently, for the first time in many years, again as an adult? How do I reconcile my interest in genuineness and practicality and truth with my comforting obsession with an image of a person performing in movies and TV shows on a screen?
