This is just a simple poem regarding the ignorance people have towards women and their daily struggles to push for perfection,

Girls are collected and elegant beings
What most don’t know is how often our self-esteem takes a beating.
Behind the smiles and laughter,
There’s much much more that men aren't seeing.

“Oh, how I wish I had the beauty of Scarlett Johansson!”
She says as she holds the box of bleach in her hand.
Still, with the blonde locks, she looks in the mirror
And sees a girl whose self-satisfaction is mere.
So she goes to the mall and blows hundreds at Mac,
That’s two hundred dollars she’ll never get back.
All because of the self-satisfactions she lacks.

“Oh, how I wish I had the body of Megan Fox!”
She says as she looks at her body that’s shaped like a box
She wants to be lean, she needs the curves,
Because her ponderous body just gets on her nerves.
So the diets begin,
And the starvation kicks in,
All because her self-satisfaction is thin.

Every day, girls look in that full body mirror
And wish the path to perfection was a little more clear
We all want to date that handsome young jock
And want everyone’s heads to turn on the block
We want our parents to point and say “that’s my daughter”
But in reality, the pressures of being a girl is a slaughter.

Therefore, our whole life we’ll strive for perfection
Not realizing where were going is the wrong direction.
Men, know that our self-esteem needs most protection
So shut your mouth before you start your “roast” session
Because what’s falling to pieces is our self-satisfaction.

I have seen many self-confident even while looking just ordinary. And also some being self-conscience even when they have the smarts. I think it is the attitude that matters in the end. Thanks for the share - siva

You've used the word 'starvation' so well with the phrase "her self-satisfaction is thin" and it is the highlight of this poem.

Wonderful poetry.
