John was now of a more elderly age. A few years ago, he had passed sixty. Here in this true story of his life, John recalls how it was probably himself who was ultimately responsible for his brother turning to Atheism.

John has had many an experience that proves that there is far more to life than that what we just see outwardly. He just has never had the courage to share any of these experiences with his younger brother, Charles.

John's many past life experiences

John had lived a long and unusual life. He was just over sixty years of age now. He had had many past life recalls.

Some of these had been spent in other countries upon the Earth. In fact, when thinking about it, most of John's past life recalls had been lives of his as lived outside of the country where he now actually lived.

John lived in Australia now. He had never had a past life memory of ever living before in Australia. He had had them in India, Egypt, Germany, and of course he had had a few in America. He had once been an American Indian shaman, or medicine man.

His life in Germany was as a wealthy businessman, and in the one in India, he was an Indian lady, who had died rather young, having been killed by a tiger. His life in Egypt was an ancient one, having been lived at the time of the construction of the pyramids. He was one of the many slaves who had helped to build them.

Strangely though, John had had some lives that were lived even further back in time than these ones were.

John had had one life where he was a priest in Atlantis, and another where he was even a scientist upon another planet out there somewhere in the Universe.

"You know, I think I had my first past life recall when I was 7."

This quote is from the American actress, Shirley MacLaine.

Not wanting to upstage Shirley here of course though, it is a fact though, that John had his first past life recall, when he was still in the womb of his mother.

This experience came forth during a rebirthing session, where you go through your birth experience, and just before this again.

John remembered being the boyfriend of his mother in a prior life where they had visited a nursery together. John had had an allergic reaction to one of the plants here. As a result of this, his next life as John had been affected too. He was born with severe eczema, all over his body. He still suffers from this.

John tries to have a future life recall, or at least he thinks about how he could do this

Because John had had so many past life recalls, he wondered to himself if he could have a future life insight as well. This type of experience is called a progression, rather than a regression.

We can undergo regression or hypnosis that might reveal some of the past to us, but can we also really experience progression by looking into our future somehow?

John scratched his head a little bit, as he thought about some of the questions that he would like answered about his future.

What is my future?

Will I get another job? Will I ever remarry? Will I ever have another bookshop? How long will I live? Can these types of things ever be revealed to me now?

These were some of the questions that John was now thinking about to himself.

John asked one of his spiritual mentors about this idea too, and this was how Sri Micheal Glomp answered him.

"The statement that all is now, and that the future or the past are mere representative stances or platforms from where you are just seeing now from, from different angles of it, create something called the past, and the future.

These viewing platforms are associated with different ages of your body, when all in all, the real truth is that as soul, you do not age, but that your vehicle does change itself, and wear itself out, so to speak, even as it then for all intents and purposes becomes dead later on to you, and so then must be discarded.

The you, that you talk about (the one posing these types of questions) is your body, mind and human being.

Your soul might have an experience there again in a bookshop again, but only if your soul sees this as being again necessary for you, and for it. You only ever have the experiences which you need, not those that you want to have, in your ongoing growth towards becoming a greater conscious channel of love."

"I'm conscious of age, but I'm more suspicious of it than anything."

The quote above is from the British singer/song-writer, Robbie Williams.

I could just as well change it to this, for the purposes of this article.

"I'm conscious of time, but I'm more suspicious of it than anything."

John remembers a future life recall that he already once had

When John was sixteen years old, his younger brother was merely eleven. John had had a dream where he had died, and was buried. He actually saw the date of his death on his gravestone.

This dream took place in the year, 1969. The date of his death as depicted on the gravestone was October 23, 1973. He told this dream to his brother. It greatly scared him, as this younger brother loved John, and he really looked up to him, almost worshiping him, as some younger brothers will often do.

For the next four years, John's brother worried, and was frightened about what might happen in the future to his older brother. John never worried at all about this. He knew even at that young age, that what would be would be.

Fast forwards now to 1973.

John was riding his bicycle to the University. He was riding on the side of the narrow road. A huge truck sped past him. It came very close to John. In fact, it hit the handle bar of his bike. John's bike veered off the road into the gravel on the side of the road. John fell off. John fell heavily, hitting his head on the concrete gutter of the road. He died. The date was October 23, 1973.

John lives again

John lay on the ground for what seemed to be a lifetime, at least it seemed like this to the taxi-driver, who had stopped to render assistance to him.

When the ambulance finally arrived, John had been "dead" for a few minutes. He was lucky that the taxi travelling behind the truck had seen what had just taken place. The taxi-driver had rang for an ambulance on his two-way radio.

John was revived by the ambulance crew, after they had given him heart resuscitation.

John lived to see another day. He had had a near-death experience, whilst lying there comatose on the ground though. He had travelled up inside a long stone tunnel. Actually, it was more that he was being blown up this tunnel by a strong wind, like that a strong fan was blowing him up there.

John reached the end of the tunnel, and there was an intense bright light there, that almost blinded him now. At the end of this tunnel was a young boy. It was John's little brother, Charles.

He said to John, "Please don't die. I love you so much. I knew that this day was coming. I prayed that I might be here somehow for you when it did. Here I am."

John had looked at Charles, and as he felt the great brotherly love of his brother for him, he felt himself being pulled back into his body, once more again. He survived for another day.

Postscript:

Until this day though, John has never told his brother about his meeting of him like this though.

He should have I think, because now his brother has become an atheist, perhaps, he would never perhaps ever now believe such a remarkable story as this one undoubtedly was.

"A man cannot become an atheist merely by wishing it."

This quote comes from the French leader, and the first Emperor of France, Napoleon Bonaparte, (1769 to 1821).

This might be true for most people, but it wasn't true in the case of John's brother, unless, that is, if we believe that the reverse is really actually true of John's brother.

Maybe he is not really an atheist at all; maybe he just hides from his real self behind these outer beliefs, that for now, he holds so very strongly.

In a sad way, John blames himself for this too.

John should not blame himself for that, John did not nor ever will have dominion over his brother Charles will do what Charles wants or is destined to do which ever way you want to look at it

yes, thanks Carol, but I still think that we need to be careful around impressionable(especially young) people.

We can perhaps lead people astray, to where they might not have gone on there own.

Spirited, my dear, dear friend! Congratulations on being author of the day! I truly loved this story. My question to you is rather complicated. Are these words taken from your past? If so there was one part that I can certainly help you with. Remember everything happens for a reason. Hugs and blessings to you today and always.

thanks Nancy.

Yes, this story was loosely based around events in my own life.

I am trying to get caught up on my reading now that I have my computer back. You know, the kind of reading where you just skim through, and then I came to you and had to stop skimming and really read your words and I must say that I totally enjoyed this story, but tell me, what is your dogs name? Very cute.

Thanks Utah Jay, and as a short story it was a bit long, so thanks for reading it all. My dog's name was Abbey. It's already died now though.

Thought provoking share, Spirited. I have a view - we ride out our karma for a purpose, release from our past actions. Each is on his own - siva

Yes, thanks Siva, but we certainly can have an influence on the lives of others. A good parent, a good teacher, a good coach, all can play a part in the way we grow I feel. Each is his own, whilst connected to all others too...
