School Uniform

Students all over know the advantages and disadvantages of uniform. After examining each side of the argument, i will be able to explain how each side has valid points and come to a conclusion.

One of the main arguments wnating school uniforms to be banned is that students do not feel unique. They have to wear the smae clothes as the person next to them which makes them feel boring and they cannot express their style through clothing.

On the other hand, school students are identifiable and look smart. If they get lost people know where they are from and can help them get back. Also, a smart, well-dressed appearance of students at a school will make a positive impression on the school and community.

One point against school uniforms is that school uniforms aren't always affordable. Children will already have casual clothing, and some people may simply not have the money to buy the extra clothing.

However, contrary to the paragraph above, school uniform is good because there is less socila pressure on the children at school. This is because no bullying can take place on the basis of what you are wearing. This benefits young peopel because it promotes equality and shows that everyone is equal despite religion, background and wealth.

To show that school uniform is not necessary is that uniform, on a wider scale despite what a few studies show, has no impact on the education, concentration and behaviour of pupils. This is because it is not what you are wearing taht improves your learning, but what your teachers aproch is on how to teach. Many countries do not have school uniforms but this does not mean that the students are under achieving or badly behaved.

On the other hand, how do these students decide what to wear? School uniforms are good because you just wear the same thing every day, and this can be particularly beneficial to parents with younger children as everything can be laid out the night before, ready for the next day without a big fuss about what they want to where.

I have not come to a set conclusion, and i can see the benefits and validity of points on both sides. Not having a uniform would be great as you could show of your own, personal style and decide what to wear yourself, but some children could be bullied just because they don't have any expensive brands or the newest of clothes.

Perhaps still have uniforms but also have more different choices in uniforms.

I would prefer school uniforms to remain, else students will always be comparing who is wearing what, my dress is not as good as the other one's, or my dress is better than person X and so on.
It can distract students from studies.
As for colleges, students are big enough to focus on what they have to do.
