A collection of sad poems for those who have suffered the loss of a special love

Silent Tears

Dreading the lonely night when she must once again be faced with her dreams
She touches the pillow where his head once laid

Her fragmented heart grows emptier by the minute
Still unable to fathom the will to live

In this perpetual state of torment
Pitying herself in the endless silence

Days of dismal absence clothed in sorrows dark array
She despises the unjust feeling that brings on such misery
And wreaks havoc upon all who dwell in such a wretched place

Her eyes burn fiercely with newly found tears
As her ragged emotions transport her to a place that no longer exists for them

She feels the world falling
Her voice turns to sobbing that bounces off the bedroom wall
Echoing in her head like a song on repeat

Tears express what she is unable say
The loneliness and grief consume her

The long space of perpetual silence
In a vacuum where nothing penetrates the excruciating stillness

Emptiness and darkness
Envelope her from everywhere

Time marches forward slowly, never stopping for a moment of reprieve
Each second that passes feels like splinters in her heart
The pain and loss forever scarred upon her soul

Every joyful memory is made bittersweet by his absence
Her entire being aches for his embrace
As her motionless body lays across the cold empty bed

If only for a fleeting moment
To turn back time
To be there again with him

Her final thought before falling asleep
Is that death would surely be easier
