Social media is one of the best ways to connect with friends, and fellow writers. you can alos get some good writing sites and other tips from the various people that you meet.

Social media sites are a wonderful place for networking. When I first came to one of the sites I write for two years ago, I had found several of the people I used to be close to from mylot. I was so happy that I knew so many people already. Of course I am happy to meet new people as they come along as well. I have met people from Bubblews here on Wikinut as well.

Meeting old friends online

As an added bonus I started to meet some of my old friends from Gather when I wrote there as well. I haven’t written for Gather in several years. My issue was that they wouldn’t pay me because I am Canadian. Since I was gone for so long, I never expected anyone from Gather to remember me.

A few days ago an old friend from Gather connected with me. I was so happy to resume my online friendship with &KatInhat

Of all the sites I have written for since then, only Bubblews was able to bring my friend &KatInhat back to me.

It doesn’t end here. Today I was delighted to get this message from a new connection, @seefids

Seefids is not just anybody; he happens to be KatInhat’s husband. I have never met him before. He read one of my articles and complimented me on my writing. He will also be reading more of my work. He says KatInhat keeps talking about me; good things of course. This bit of news warms my heart. I am truly blessed.

Meeting online friiends

So to bring the story back to networking, connecting with old and new friends on Bubblews is a wonderful way of adding more people to your internet friend’s list and of course making more money. This of course extends to Wikinut as well. But I must admit my experience on Wikinut is to meet new friends more than old. I love all my friends on any site that I write for.

I have also had the opportunity to meet some of my Internet friends in person. Besides sharing good times together, one of my Internet friends helped me with my writing career. Trish gave me writing gigs and in turn I introduced her to CharleneCollins2 and others.

This too is a form of networking. The more people know that you are a writer the bigger chance you will have for getting writing jobs. Over the years I have gotten many writing jobs that were introduced to me by friends.

Don't overlook the power of communities/groups on any social media platform. I posted some blog articles on three Google Plus communities that I had recently joined and attained an instant spike in readership as a result.
