Some thoughts about Angels, life, and death

Angels are thought of as being real by many people. After all, they are even mentioned in the Christian bible itself, many times.

Recently, I had a meditation session where I met an angel. It was my recently deceased father, now an angel in Heaven.

This opinion piece discusses my own ideas about the existence of angels.

A meditation with my Dad

"At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven."

This verse is Jesus Christ talking about marriage in Heaven. It comes from Saint Matthew's gospel, chapter 22, verse 30.

My father has recently died, and I believe that he has gone to Heaven.

Even so though, the cold reality of his death, and the fact that I will never see him again in his flesh and life body is rather sobering to me.

It made me think that perhaps all this stuff about Heaven really existing might just be the sentimental thoughts of somebody trying to reassure someone else after such a death as this has taken place.

One night then, I asked Jesus Christ in prayer to make all of this more real to me then, and to reveal the truth about all of this to me too.

I had asked him with my mind, and with my heart sincerely attached to the request too. I really wanted to know where my Dad was now.

Anyway, I quietened my mind not wanting to interfere with what might happen now in any way at all.

I actually pictured myself closing it off (my mind), and shutting it down altogether.

Then, I visualised my heart opening up wide.

I imagined a deep red carpet was issuing outwards from my heart, like a catwalk at the TV Logies awards.

Peering out along the length of the carpet, I now saw two men walking towards me, hand-in hand.

One, I could see was wearing a cream or lightly yellowed coloured robe. The other was wearing a light brown one.

One had a medium length beard, and he looked like the pictures that I had seen of Jesus, many times before.

The other old man was bent over a little as he hobbled along with his walking stick placed firmly in his right hand. His feet were twisted and deformed.

This was the give-away. As he came closer, I saw that this was indeed, in fact, my Dad.

I asked him,

"How come I am seeing you now, exactly as you were when you died?"

He then replied,

"You are not seeing me as I am now.

You are seeing me from your own thought projection image of me that you hold of me in your own mind. Close off this image, shut down your mind, see me with your heart. Then you will see the real me, as I really am."

And so I tried then to do just this.

I then saw Dad in a magnificently younger, nubile, vibrantly, healthy looking body. He looked something like an Adonis figure. Blond hair, shining face, and with light all extending and shining forth from him, reaching out to all around him too. Some of it was falling onto me too.

(Note: In Greek mythology, Adonis is a Phoenician demi-god of beauty and desire. He was handsomely good-looking, and he was the male lover of the Greek goddess, Aphrodite.

The word Adonis is a variation of the Semitic word "Adonai", which means, "Lord".)

Then my Dad spoke to me again.

"My name here is Galahad. I am like an angel here in Heaven. What Jesus said in the bible is true. Never doubt this again. Hold onto your beliefs. Retain your faith. I am as real as you are, my son."

Then just as suddenly both figures were gone, and I was back in my own mind, thinking seriously now, very deeply, about what had just happened.

I tried to remember more about how he looked in this waking dreamlike experience of mine.

I remembered then that he had wings extending out from his back too, from just below his shoulder area.

This made me research this aspect of an angel in the bible.

I found that there are quite a few verses there mentioning angels with wings.

One such verse, from the Old Testament book of Exodus, chapter 25, verse 20, is this one.

"And the cherubims shall stretch forth their wings on high, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and their faces shall look one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubims be."

Guardian Angels

Are there different sorts of angels?

When we go to heaven, can we be given the task of being another soul's guardian angel on earth, for example?

The earth is a depositary for certain souls, and other souls go elsewhere.

There are angels in charge of looking after every city on the earth, and even every house or place of residence of a soul.

This interesting verse from the old Testament book of Daniel, chapter 10, verses 20 and 21, confirms all of this.

"Now I have to go back and fight the guardian angel of Persia. After that the guardian angel of Greece will appear. There is no one to help me except Michael, Israel's guardian angel."

Also each soul has another soul in the form of an angel individually guiding and looking after them too. In this way, there is a hierarchy of angels working on these inner planes to help you to go through your life.

Yes, indeed you too can be given one of these roles when you make it back to heaven again too, so to speak, because really your soul is already there now. Our souls never leave Heaven. This is because our souls are a part of God himself.

Your primary focus however is to either work as a human or some other entity, in a outer flesh and life body, or perhaps as an angel, where and which your soul and your spirit work with god more directly from.

Love writes its own story about itself to you from its experiences in your soul's long life up until now. Your soul has the authority and ability to consult with all other souls, including master souls. All souls are linked to each other and to God.

Every soul is also linked to an angel.

God, when he separately created each soul, created an angel that was linked to each soul, from a perspective of God.

This means that, from God's perspective, the soul and its guardian angel are created together as partners for all time. Souls contain angels and angels are linked to souls.

All are parts of God, but angels are energy reservoirs flowing into soul from God and souls are depositaries for living this energy through experiences of love in the constructed worlds with the assistance available from their guardian angel's extra energy.

Angels remaining in the higher God worlds allow a contact with God to be more easily brought down to soul within its human body.

This arrangement created an overview for each soul (or more really its flesh and life counterpart) to be helped, even when it (or us in our body) felt it was too far removed from God to be helped by him, or by anyone else anymore.

“God built lighthouses to see people through storms. Then he built storms to remind people to find lighthouses.”

This is a quote from the writer Shannon L. Alder.

We could just as well change this to be talking about guardian angels instead of about lighthouses like this:

“God created guardian angels to help him find people in their storm's storms. Then he built even more storms to remind people to stay in greater contact with their guardian angels!”

God being God, angels must be real!

Angels must exist!

Angels must exist simply because of the scope of God.

God is infinite, and infinity always includes all options, and so all of the permutations that are ever possible, are possible.

"Angels possess greater powers than do human beings."

This quote is from the American film director, Walter Lang (1896 to 1972).

Do angels really possess more, or greater powers than us humans, or not then?

Have they access to more spiritual energy, or love than we do?

Have they got a greater capacity to love?

Angels possess certain God-given gifted powers, as do humans.

Which is greater is something some people might debate over a cup of tea, or coffee of course, but all this would prove is nothing.

An apple can never become an orange, until the orange becomes the apple.

This simply means to be what and who you are right now.

This could always change at some time in your future.

Maybe one day you too will become an angel like my Dad has become now in Heaven.

Angels and humans and all souls always have full access to all of God, and this includes to all of his spiritual energy and love.

This is as Jesus Christ said, when he said that we can all do the same things as which he did, and he even then went on to say that we can indeed all do even greater things than which even he has done, whilst he was here on the earth.

"Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father."

This verse is from Saint John's gospel, chapter 14, verse 12.

What was that meditation session about my dad, with my dad, really all about, and what did it really mean for me?

Was it real, or not?

Only love is real.

(Note: This is the title of a great book by the author, Brian Weiss.)

All else is manifested love, operating in some way, or another. Our heart knows, our mind only wants to know. If we can give up wanting things with our mind, we will drop down into the knowing in our hearts then, and so know, without any doubts.

Here I manifested a scene meditatively so that I could connect again to the energy of my father within God, and so that this energy (that was my Dad) could then show me that it still lives on.

In reality then, it was also really me who also projected the image of the angel onto my dad in some ways too, because all such images only ever exist within our own mind when you see them, and the reality out there is that image is not really my dad either.

My Dad is love in the same way as I am love.

The only difference is that he is now wearing the clothes of heaven, even as I am still wearing still the clothes of my Earthly existence here on the Earth.

Spirited, this is what I would call a very thought provoking article. I hesitate to call it an article because it is so much more than that. I read each part and went back and read some parts twice. It must have been an awesome experience to see your Dad again. Blessings to you always!

So uplifting and touching is this share Spirted. I hope I too can become an angel to guide many towards the right path, at least remind them not to stray and then it is their choice!

There seems to be wheels within wheels in creation and so better to play our part in all sincerity and wait for our turn without jumping the gun! siva

Yes thanks siva,

We only need to oil our own wheel where it is right now. No point trying to oil wheels from the past, or even putting too much oil away just for oiling those wheels that might become attached to us in the future too.

Yes, we must wait our turn, as you say. I feel that too.

Thanks ~ Spirited ~ for posting this article about angels. Initially I wasn't sure how to take this and I was going to reserve comment.

I certainly do believe that angels are real as they are mentioned throughout Scripture.

I think you have done a magnificent job of sharing your insight.

Thanks Helen,

We all have experiences in life. How real they are is up to each one of us to accept for ourselves.

And as you said I did a good job of sharing my experience, I am pleased I didn't step on too many toes.
