This sonnet is a labor of love that I wrote for God. Not only was it written for God, it was written so that anyone who reads it may find hope.

Sonnet For God

What death has sought when parted love has given,
Is breathless in my heart to seek to pray now,
Softly has strain begun to ever seek,
For my poor soul has but not yet been forgiven.
My life and prayers are all for naught forever,
Save thy precious face I once did caress,
Yet when faith struck me as a steel hammer,
Believed I did I would see thee never.
Devil child's red eyes became my nightmare,
As driven forth with granite stone agony,
Time to fly on wings of a true angel,
Lest the beast grab the sacred soul so rare.
For speak I the truth of glorious sod,
And fill my cup with faithfulness from God.
