As a survivor of abuse my story starts with random memories, some sad but all true. Love was never enough nor was trying to be the perfect wife and mother. Struggles in my life and demons in my head to overcome. Rebuilding me.

My daughter

You were too young to understand
He was your father he was my man
The struggles met daily fit into his plan
As i watched you grow from a baby
My prayers were there daily
Please God protect her from men
The swiftness of the blows from his hand.
What did it take the time before last
He crushed my spirit like glass
Kicked me as i lay crying on the floor
Begging please dont hit me no more.
She came from her bedroom as she heard my scream,
Are you ok mommy is that blood on the floor...
What did you do why did you say please stop
Daddy is sitting outside on the porch....
He is drinking again please tell him to stop.
The fear rushed thru me as i seen the fear in her eyes
This my little girl has understanding and cries.
Her daddy is out there yelling at the post man,
But he comes back insde as he is swinging his hand.
The blow struck me and to my surprise
I did'nt cringe as he spewed all his lies.
He blamed me you see with a sick little grin
I know that look, the beating again begins..
He tells me that no one will want me you see,
For i have children the number is 3.
Cover the bruises and straighten my hair, act like it was nothing
And act like he cared.
He said he was sorry this time too...
Yet after he said it one more kick from his boot.
The blows of the wind as he rushed to straighten the frown on my face.
Dont cry mommy.

Ethics and morality should be more seriously taken at family level, I guess to avoid all types of bad things. Well shared and thought.
