Swimming in the Dark!

Some people are charismatic and exciting, but turn out to be shallow. Sometimes the real treasure is hidden deep under the surface of a reserved personality. You can't just dig it up and play with it, you have to let the owner of the treasure reveal it to you slowly, and you have to treat their slowly unfolding trust with respect and reverence....

Swimming in the Dark

Twin pools of coffee
Liquid darkness
Mysterious fathoms
As deep as Loch Ness

Ancient wisdom
Long lost history
I long to live
Inside your mystery

From this darkness shines
A friendly sun
With that glorious radiance
I want to be one

In one brash move
I rush those tonics
But the surface has turned
As hard as onyx

I am shut out
But don't feel slighted
Patience's reward
Is to be invited

Though this dark is deep
I do not fear it
These fathoms are home
To my kindred spirit

Twin pools of coffee
Turned toward me
The dark is open
I clearly see

I softly enter
I glide, I swim
Each time I know
Some more of him

Dark fathoms reveal
What I already knew
In those black-brown depths
Burns fire true blue
