Here is some more poetry about love and about an awakening.

The Awakening

The Awakening

To get the understanding behind this poem you will want to read the previous entry, “Okay So I am not a Poet.” This poem was written as a challenge, I had never written poetry before and I was discussing how stuff that sounded like gook to me was well received in the 70's. There was always someone who would jump up and shout out " deep man deep." Well here is my contribution to a 70's style nonsensical poem, and I truly believe that at least mine is "deep man deep."

The Awakening

I woke up in my navel this morning,
Dark crimson turning blue,
Shoelaces dancing on the ceiling.
A warm breeze blowing through,
I woke up in my navel this morning,
Jumbled thoughts invade my head,
Fleeting memories recurring,
Hanging on by just a thread,
I woke up in my navel this morning,
Rerouting garbage to the bin,
Purging self of all wrongdoings,
The formidable journey yet to begin,

Candle of Love

Candle of Love

Cold and waxy, the icy feeling sends shivers through my hand and up my arms as it tickles my senses. I twist the candle round and round in my hand as I bask in the pleasures that these sensations created in me.
I enjoy the pleasure,
the erotica,
the sensuality.
I embrace the candle as my lover.
The smooth waxy texture fills me with a sense of calmness, while lifting me to a level of heightened awareness.
The candle serenades me
flirts with me
woo's me,
teases me with promises of what is to come.
The candle warms from the heat of my hand and the heat of my passion. I tightly hold its cylinder shape.
I stroke it
I caress it
the wax becomes sticky as it spews forth it love for me.
I feel the rough round ridge.
I follow the circle with my thumb.
There is no beginning and no end.
impenetrable
unvanquished
insatiable
It is the circle of life
the circle of love
forever
everlasting
eternal
birth
childhood
adulthood
love
new birth
old age
death
and life again
The circle never ends. The flames of love never expire.
I roll the candle along my face, down my neck, and between my breast.
It is cold,
exhilarating
sensual
erotic
I feel every nerve respond to the touch,
I am alive,
I am passionate
I am prepared to embrace love and life at its best
I place the candle back onto the surface from whence it came.
I slowly raise the palm of my hand to my nostrils.
I drink in the wonderful fragrance; lightly scented but oh so powerful
the aroma of vanilla,
the scent of hearth and home
the scent of love

Love Is

Love Is

Love is like a rainbow,
After every tear we shed.
Love is like the laughter,
Turning cheeks a rosy red.
Love is in the words, "I'm sorry,"
After hateful ones are said.

Love is the mighty force behind,
That which all our lives are led.
Love is the food that fills us,
For it is our daily bread.

Love is the healing power,
For a heart that has been bled.
Without love our souls lay dormant,
Like the thoughts within our head.

We must all give of love freely,
We must make a common thread.
For love she is not selfish,
She's not clingy; she is not dead.
Celebrate her mighty powers,
And the love will be widespread.
