The Beauty Of The Silver Lining

On travelling home one evening I noticed the beautiful rays of sunlight surrounding a grey cloud - and these words started to flow in my mind.

The Silver Lining

As the clouds skudded across the grey-blue sky -
Evening was drawing nearer to her repose- when
She would say goodbye - as yet another day - close to its'
End - with all its' comings and goings - like the
Visit of a mutual friend - But - what is this I see ?
Pouring its' radiant beams across my path ? - as if
It were to spotlight me - A sunbeam - arrow-like - yet beautiful -
It cast its' light upon my way - like shafts of glorious satin -
Flowing down in full display - as from a purest wedding gown -
Worn by a bride - on her most Sacred Day.
But now - as my eyes adjust to this unfolding scene - I see that
Circling round these shafts of light - are clouds of deepest grey -
A not so welcome sight - but - in respect - the one can only but enhance
The beauty of the sun - as like a Silver band of Glory - it encircles all
That seems to mar - and shines more bright - as if to comfort me - and say
That - All is well - and not to fear - that even though the dark times come -
They also disappear - and - if we look with eyes of faith we see - the sun
Is ever shining throughout all to bring its' cheer - when hard times come -
A Silver Lining - as a focus from the dark forebodings - to the beauty
Of the setting Sun - a reassurance - making even weary hearts to swell
With quiet trust - in knowing that - no matter what -
It will be Well.

<><........<><.........<><.........<><.........<><..........<><...........<><............<><.......<><.........

Sometimes our lives go through times of darkness , and we wonder if we will ever come through such times , but always remember this ........ that , no matter what is happening , the sun is always shining above the clouds , and you are not forgotten or alone , and the next time you see the silver lining around the grey clouds , remember these words . ' It Will Be Well ' for You .

God bless you .

Thank you Stella for this lovely poem and I agree with its sentiment 100%!! As believers we must give thanks for all things because in and through all our sorrow, pain and tears there is a silver lining!!

that is so true Judy , but I would go as far as to say that , as believers , we have the Lord in midst of our troubles . I can't imagine how people manage without Him , as I know I couldn't .
God bless you

As the sun set in a chaptter of life,Its arose again midst pain and strife.
Bringing in the courage tht brought love,
Showing the world from up Above.

For clouds that hid the horrific find,
Finally came out to speak the mind.
Showing that that grey had broken at last,
Bringing in the fluffy of the past.

Who proved the greatest of the worst deed,
Became the water of the once dying seed.
Bringing back the life that once ebbed away,
With sunlight streaming through shades of grey.

Creating the rainbow that brought the hope,
Showing the Universe how to cope.

Bringing back the armour that showed the love,
The greatest of destiny flowing from Above.
For the hail and storms finally brought truth,
The silver lining of the greatest of fruit.

For the Sun justshowed it lives on,
Becoming the Golden Gift of Break of Dawn.
Pulling the Universe with greatest love,
As she reigned solo way up Above.

Breaking the stereotypes of partnering,
Showing Planet Earth holding the ring.
With the Golden Sun showing the art,
With the silver lining heralding start.

Inspirational, Stella. Nature is always our ally - in fact, we also form part of nature and from nature. When our lives are perfectly aligned with nature, we enjoy bliss - siva

Dear Siva . I get great inspiration from God's wonderful creation , and He seems to bless me with what I need when I need it , and for that I am grateful . I shall sit and read your new work now , as I am back from Church and caring for my elderly friend . I am hoping a friend will come and put a new profile picture of me on my site soon . Then you will see who you are addressing .
God bless you

Why thank you my friend .I only write as I see , and even the difficult times can be edged with grace , if we have eyes to see past the gloom .
