Part four of the series. Duncan explains some of his plan.

Moving in for the kill

Charles wakes with a start. His alarm informs him that it is now seven o'clock in the morning. Feeling like his head is full of sand, Charles gets up, shakes some of the sand out, and goes to eat his breakfast. While the eggs and bacon are sizzling gently in the pan, Charles thinks back to the meeting with his brother.

Charles slowly put the incriminating emails back in the envelope. And slid them back across the table to Duncan.

“All right, elaborate.”

“How much do you about the man whose estate you are guarding?”

“Not much, why?”

“Do you at least know what you're actually guarding?”

“All I was told was that it's a very large very valuable estate. That was all I needed to know.”

“But you do know about the safe...”

“What I know and don't know is no concern of yours.”

“As I was saying, the safe contains certain very valuable documents. Documents that have to do with the H.M.S Sussex. ”

Charles started, “How do you know that?”

“I pay well to be well informed.”

“I assume you want me to steal this document. What is your plan?”

“The next time you're guarding the estate, which correct me if I am wrong would be tonight, you will go into the study as soon as your and the other guards' rounds begin. You will open the safe in the floor under the desk, and you will photograph the documents in the orange folder.”

“Since you seem to know so much, who is the man who owns the estate?”

“Gregory P. Strom”

“If I am even to consider doing this, I want to know: what is it exactly that you want me to steal?”

“More information on when and where they will be moving the cargo that has already been removed from the wreck of H.M.S Sussex. Since Strom is the CEO of the company tasked with retrieval of the wreck and the 500 million dollars worth of gold coins on it...”

“I see. All right, that's it. This has gone on long enough. I'm contacting the police. Coffee's on me.”

“Sit back down. The emails are not the only strings I have to make you dance. You must have forgotten, I have what was in your safe four years ago. If you want it back, you'll have to play along...”
