The malls are filled with Christmas shoppers and I love the holiday music. We have Snow, a parade and even a Christmas Tree!

The Christmas Tree

“Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way” – Oh hi there, I’ve been practicing my singing ever since mommy and I came back from the mall this morning. I guess you’ve been there – haven’t you? Mommy says it’s crazy this time of the year with so many people milling around, but I sure love those Christmas songs. Jingle bells is my favourite though. I saw some toys that I really liked but mommy says that I mustn’t touch them because they belong to someone else. I understand that of course, we must never take something that belongs to another – at least not without their permission. There has been some strange things happening recently, but they’re fun things really, maybe the people here aren’t so dull after all.
Daddy came home on Sunday and Monday morning, he left early and when he came back about an hour later, he had this big tree and what should he do but bring it in the house! I thought “oh-oh, mommy is going to be so-o upset”, but you know what – she was actually pleased and said she loved the tree! I even stopped chattering for a minute and watched them stand it up in a corner of the living room. That isn’t the best part though, because then daddy went up into the attic and brought down boxes and boxes of really neat stuff, then they started to “trim the tree” – at least that’s what I think they called it. Wouldn’t you know it though, they put me in my playpen – and I so much wanted to help! I must admit though that they sure did a super job – it’s really awesome, especially with all those lights. When it was almost finished, daddy put the angel at the top and I just stood there staring at it, like it reminded me of someone I once knew – funny isn’t it?

Getting Ready To Watch The Parade

It snowed last night! I’m not kidding, it really did, come to my window and see. Daddy said it would snow and it did, it did – I think he must be psychic or something, but then daddies know everything don’t they? He said that there is going to be a Santa Claus parade today, and we’re going to see it. I’m really excited, it’ll my first chance to see the big cheese – you know that fat old man who comes down the chimney on Christmas Eve. I’ve learned a lot about him from watching those Christmas shows on TV, he lives at the North Pole and he has reindeer that fly and take him all around the world on Christmas Eve. There is a Mrs. Claus too, but she doesn’t travel with him, she just stays home and has a nice hot breakfast for Santa and the reindeer when they get home. You won’t tell anyone that I called him a fat old man- will you? He might get upset and not bring me any presents, and I’ve already asked him for some of those toys, like I saw at the mall – I especially want that train set.
Here’s mommy with my snowsuit now – yeah, we’re going outside, is it time for the parade yet mommy? Is it? Is it? Mommy, don’t cover my eyes, I won’t be able to see a thing-and what’s this you’re putting on my hands? Say they are kind of pretty- aren’t they? Will all my friends be there mommy? They will! Oh that’s great, I’ll get to see Danny and Mitchell and Noah, and maybe even Cherrie. I hope she looks my way again – do you think I should wave if she does? I haven’t quite got this boy – girl thing all figured out yet – besides I caught her looking at Danny at that last party. I don’t think I’m really the jealous type but she is my girl and I’ve got to let her know that. I’d better make sure that Danny knows too, I don’t want him makin’ any passes at her.
Wow! Look at all the snow, everything is white, the trees, the houses, the cars – well I see that the daddies have brushed it off most of the cars, I guess everyone is heading to the big parade. Put me down mommy, I want to walk in the snow – what? You think I might fall! Well, it’s true that I haven’t walked in snow before and perhaps Cherrie would be watching – yeah, it WOULD be embarrassing to fall just as she looked at me – and I know Danny would laugh too - Darn!

"they started to "trim the tree""

At least they didn't prune it inside the house, they decorated it, I guess this means, your little tyke knows more than I do!!

Always entertaining Kingwell.

Thanks Spirited. I'm not sure where the term 'trim the tree" comes from but I've heard it many times - and yes it does me to decorate. Blessings.

Max is growing up fast and is loved by all - hope he gets a comfortable ride into adulthood. Slow and steady will suit him fine than hot housing him to grow up faster without enjoying his childhood.

But Max knows more than what adults think he knows! Thanks Kingwell - siva
