Summer is coming. Everybody is happy but oops! Someone is not. He is used to the cold. Who is it? Read 'The Dying Boots' to find out for yourself!

But Summer is also time to harvest many crops. What has the author faced this year. Find out by reading 'Slipping Luck'.

My Dying Boots

I'm going to flog off my winter shoes
And I hope he, with the weather he's in, won't refuse
I'll only bring him back when I see no demand
That's when I'll need a hand
For he won't wait in stores, he will decay

He did fine with the snow, warming me like a guesser
That I think he might well wait while socked in a freezer
For with the sun he's in a solitary path
As no friends of him sun-bath
So here he is. Take him to the cold. Don't delay, he will decay.

Slipping Luck

I planted a seed
Expecting high yield
My bare eyes watched my livestock breed
And my mouth called it a lucky field

By the summer harvest
There was none
But a laugh from the guest
That I had invited before the harvest was done

What shall I call it?
Well, 'Slippy lucky'
For it was in my hands watching me sit
But once I stood it went back

I planted a seed
Expecting high yield
But now It's vanished
And my life is punished.
