The belief in the King Tut's Curse created a chaos when several members of the archaeologist Howard Carter's team died suddenly during the investigation of the tomb. The tomb was opened in the year 1922 by Carter's team and some of the members suffered from the terrible and unexpected deaths while investigating the tomb.

The Background

A group of archaeological team led by the prominent archaeologist named Howard Carter discovered a tomb in the deserts of Egypt. The interesting thing they found were the writings which clearly mentioned that anyone who will open the tomb, will die a miserable death.Following were the prominent names of the researchers in Carter's team:

1. Lord Carnarvon,
2. Howard Carter,
3. George Jay Gould.
4. Audrey Herbert,
5. Hugh Evelyn-White
6. American Egyptologist Aaron Ember
7. Richard Bethell,
8. Archibald Douglas Reed merely.
9. James Henry Breasted,
10. Howard Carter himself

The Immediate Deaths

This is really very interesting topic because no one can say with great surety. However, there were several other deaths, which have scientific explanation and they happened just after opening the chamber of the Tomb.

There are many theories that scientifically deal with the Curse of King Tut .One possibility is that: The King Tut's Tomb was guarded by poison or poisonous gases inside the King' tomb to protect the Tomb as well as the Mummy. The topic regarding the phenomenon is highly debatable and the recent laboratory tests have shown that some of the Tombs found in Egypt contain mold.
As far as the mold bacteria is concerned, here is the excerpt from wikipedia.org:

Some molds also produce mycotoxins that can pose serious health risks to humans and animals. The term "toxic mold" refers to molds that produce mycotoxins, such as Stachybotrys chartarum, not to all molds. Exposure to high levels of mycotoxins can lead to neurological problems and in some cases death.

The Mysterious Deaths which didn't Happen Immediately

There were the astonishing incidents that happened after opening the tomb.

. Lord Carnarvon died due to the infection which he got while shaving on his mosquito bitten area of the face. There is some legend associated to the death of
Carnarvon. When he died, all the lights of his house were turned off.

.Howard Carter died due to Lymphoma after several years of discovering the tomb.
George Jay Gould immediately fell sick and died within days.

. Audrey Herbert died due to food poisoning.

. Hugh Evelyn-White committed suicide.

. Aaron Ember died after his house caught fire.

. Richard Bethell died due to respiratory failure.
