The Desert, The Mountain

This is a poem sharing my experience living in the desert with the mountains literally across the way. The differences and the similarities of both landscapes and the way they touch my soul.

The Desert, The Mountain

The sky so vast

The purple mountains HIGH so they touch the sky.

The clouds, puffy and white, sometimes grey with rain.

The rain comes in a flash, to water the sage that grows,

As wild as the wolves that roam its floor.

The Desert
The Mountains
so close but yet so far......

A note on short poems

Some poems are quite short, for instance, a haiku is rarely 500 characters, as required by Wikinut. So I have added this short note, on short poems, to achieve the necessary 500 characters as required. Thank you for reading this poem. Short poems can be worthwhile and fun to read. Creating a note about short notes should allow me to express myself in short form, shortly. Do you agree?
