In the last story Molly and Milly were vacationing with their family in Carolina beach. They survived two storms, a murder and temperatures reaching 105 degrees in the shade. They are happy to be home in Jersey, with a large reward for services rendered.

Arriving home

When Dad pulled in the driveway everyone was relieved to be home. Dad opened the trunk and told everybody to grab their own bags. Milly had trouble carrying her bag because it was filled with magazines. Molly gave her a hand and carried it into the house for her. Everybody threw down their bags and went to lay down. It had been a long ride and Dad wasn't the best driver on the planet. There were a few close calls along the way. Dad almost sideswiped a big truck but luckily swerved at the last minute. Molly's nerves were fried. She needed a few days to unwind. She wasn't sure what she was going to do with her life but she was sure there'd be no investigations in the near future.

The comforts of home

Milly was the happiest member of her family to be home. The first thing she did after her nap was to call grandma. Milly had missed grandma so much. Molly wanted to check out the neighborhood. It was hard to tell what had taken place while they were gone. The first friend she was going to see was Robert. He lived across the street with his family. He was a very attractive golden retriever but he wasn't her type. Molly wanted to fill Robert in on what had happened on vacation.

Molly's friend

Robert was watching television when Molly knocked on the door. He was such a laid back kind of dog, and didn't bark when Molly knocked on the door. They had a doggie door so Molly just walked in. She found Robert in the family room. He offered her some treats but she declined. Robert told Molly there'd been some excitement in the neighborhood while she'd been gone. Molly listened intently while he filled her in on the details. There had been several robberies in the area. Molly's friend Sally lived in one of the houses that was robbed, she was a welsh corgi. Everybody in the neighborhood knew Sally and she was well liked. Robert had been keeping his eyes and ears open for anything that seemed out of the ordinary but had nothing to report. Molly thanked Robert for the information and walked over to Sally's house.

Sally the welsh corgi

Sally was waiting for Molly when she got to the door. Robert probably called her. Sally was nervous about the break ins. The day they broke into Sally's house she'd been at the vet. It was time for her yearly shots. Robert's story and her story matched. They hadn't seen anything out of the ordinary on the streets. Sally told Molly that her Mom had checked with the mailman, and he didn't see anything out of the way when he went out on his deliveries. This was very odd. Molly didn't know what to think, this was her neighborhood and things like this didn't happen here.

Molly's important news

Molly decided to go home and talk to Milly. She found Mom cooking in the kitchen and Dad was in his office catching up on some work. Whatever Mom was making sure smelled good. She found Milly in the bedroom sound asleep. She woke her up and told her she had some important news. Milly sat up and tried to listen but she was so tired. Why didn't Molly want her to sleep? Was she bothering anybody, the answer was no. She finally got her eyes to focus and listened to what Molly was saying. Milly couldn't believe it, robberies in their neighborhood. What was this world coming to? They were going to have to tell Dad. Milly simply could not take anymore bad guys.

Molly walks into problems especially robberies but now she is a veteran and Milly the sharp eyed look out. I think the robbers know better to keep clear of the neighborhood!

Another blossoming adventure thanks Nancy with new characters, so Dad can just shake his legs! That is clear from his spartan desk too! siva
