The captain of the police department sent Dad, Robert and Molly to investigate a theft at the museum. The museum was actually on the third floor of an old building near the town square. Dad and the team did a walk through and Dad took notes. Molly observed and Robert walked around the museum.

The team is back from the museum

When the team got home Dad went into his office to put his notes on his personal computer. Robert walked home through the ice and snow. Molly watched him till he got to his front door. Once she knew Robert was home safe she went down to the family room to tell Milly about the investigation. As she walked down the steps she noticed how warm the room was. Milly must have turned the electric heater on high. That girl was a freeze baby. The room was certainly warm and inviting. Molly woke Milly up when she crawled up on the couch. Mom always had her favorite blanket on the couch for when Molly wanted to cover up. She got under the fuzzy blanket and turned on the television. There was a segment on the news about the museum.

The news reporter's mishap

Molly was listening to the news reporter. He was standing in front of the old building by the square. At one point the wind picked up speed and blew his hat off. By the time he got back to the screen his face was as red as a beet. Molly had to laugh when the reporter went running after his hat. She didn't mean to laugh because she felt sorry for the man but it was kind of funny. He reported that there was an old painting missing from the museum. Molly found it odd that he never mentioned the arrowheads. There was a possibility he didn't know about them. The police could be keeping some information from the public. Molly figured they had their reasons but she had no idea what they were. Molly noticed that the tree behind the reporter was covered in ice and snow. It was going to be a very cold night.

Freddy's observation

Freddy had been watching the news all day and they had been rerunning the segment on the museum on and off for hours. Freddy was a very observant fish and he noticed right away that the news people were leaving important parts out of their news report. Dad had specifically told Freddy when he came home from the museum that there was an old painting missing along with several arrowheads. The reporter was talking about the old painting but nothing about the arrowheads. There was a possibility the arrowheads were not valuable but none the less the public had a right to know what was missing. Mom came in to feed Freddy. Mom was really cool because she didn't mind if Freddy ate dinner while he watched television. Freddy made a mental note to tell Dad what he'd discovered. What Freddy didn't know was that Molly was in the family room watching the same news report and had discovered the same thing. It seemed as though they were on the same page. They were going to be a great team together.

Molly planned to search high and low for clues

When Mom called everyone for dinner Milly was the first one up the stairs. As she walked passed the patio window she looked outside. The kids bikes were covered in snow. It was going to be a very cold night. Thank goodness they were all in the house where it was warm. Rusty was already in the kitchen when Milly came in. Molly was late for dinner because she stopped to talk to Freddy. She was very impressed with him. If there was one thing Freddy knew it was his news. After dinner Mom and Dad retired to their room and Rusty, Molly and Milly went in the living room to sit by the fire. From where Molly was sitting she could see Robert's house. There were big icicles hanging from his gutter. They were actually very pretty but Molly knew they could be dangerous. The wind was blowing so hard she was afraid the roof would blow off. The fire was crackling and Molly loved that sound. Tomorrow Dad was going back to the museum and Molly planned to go along. She was going to search every nook and cranny for clues. Molly really hoped that Dad would call in the whole team. It would be nice to be back together again.

Carol, thanks for commenting and to answer your question the children are usually with Mom and Dad is usually with the team. I think later on I will bring the children more into the storyline. Samantha is 10, Ricky is 7 and Reilly is 2. I wanted everyone to be quite family with the team before I added more detail about the children. Smiles to you!

When I read about the news reporter's mishap I recalled a recent instance when a newscaster ran for his life as the earthquake shook the building!

The team is going to be everywhere, all over the museum, to uncover this heist, and I am sure when they troop in everyone will heave a sigh of relief that the rogues are history!

An uplifting story developing with the winter getting its grip and leaving its mark! Thanks Nancy - siva
