The team is rested and ready to get back on the road. Molly's been investigating the Curator and believes that he plays a part in the robbery and the fire. She just can't seem to put her paw on a reason.

Preparing to investigate the crime scene

Dad was up early and ready to pick up where the team left off with the investigation. Molly heard him talking on the phone to the Fire Marshall. Molly overheard Dad say he was going over to what was left of the museum. He was hoping to pick up a few clues along the way. Molly decided she better get ready to go along. She pulled out her bag and gathered all the items she needed for the investigation. The first thing Molly put in her bag was her night vision goggles just in case they stayed till dark. She put her camera in her bag along with her mace just in case they ran into opposition from any unscrupulous perpetrators. That happened a lot in their line of work. She grabbed a couple of bottles of water out of the fridge. They might get thirsty and she had to think of the team. The building was going to be dark and if she was looking for clues the light would come in handy. She called Robert and he was on his way over. Milly was going this time but under protest. She really wanted to stay home. It was very cold outside and Milly was a freeze baby. Dad had enlisted Miss Darcy's help this morning because she could fly up to the top of the building without getting hurt. Dad wanted her to look for clues in the parts of the museum that was still standing.

Gathering the team together

Dad was packing up the van and Molly was putting the finishing touches on the contents of her bag. She clipped her whistle to the side of her bag and put her stun gun inside the front pocket. Molly had a funny feeling that the curator was a lot more dangerous than what Dad thought. Molly and Robert did not share with Dad what they found in the curator's basement. There was a couple of reasons why they were keeping the information to themselves. The number one reason was because Dad would be really angry with them for going behind his back and not asking for permission. Some things were better kept secret until just the right time. The number two reason was because Dad would never let them go to the library again and that was just not acceptable. Robert was sitting in the van when Molly brought her bag outside. Dad had to go inside to get Milly. She had two sweaters on and Mom had put on mittens on her paws. She also had one of Grandma's knitted scarf's wrapped around her neck. When Dad picked her up and saw her outfit he just sighed. There was nothing he could do with her. She really didn't like the cold. Mom was glaring at Dad when he went out the door. The weather was bad and Mom didn't like him taking the team out in bad weather. By the time Dad and Milly got in the van Robert and Molly had their seat belts on and were ready to go. Dad was getting ready to shut the sliding door when Miss Darcy flew in the van. Dad had the heat on full blast and Miss Darcy was very thankful. It had been a cold flight from the park. Miss Darcy looked over at Milly and thought maybe she needed a sweater and scarf too. It might make it a little hard to fly though. This winter weather was hard on her but she had an obligation to the team. At times Miss Darcy thought that Freddy had the best life of all of them. He got to stay in a nice warm house and watch the news all day long.

Miss Darcy's assignment

Dad drove slow on the ice covered road. Molly for one was very thankful. She really didn't feel like dealing with the van if it slid off the road and went into a ditch. Molly looked over at Robert and could tell he felt the same way. Milly was sitting on Dad's lap where she was toasty warm. Miss Darcy was perched on the back window ledge. The heater vent was blowing on her and she looked very happy. When they pulled up in front of the old building Dad turned off the engine and told the team to go inside. Molly got out of the van with Robert right behind her. Miss Darcy flew to the door and waited for Dad. Dad followed everyone to the door. He was carrying Milly. Dad opened the door and everyone went inside. Miss Darcy's assignment was to fly upstairs and look around for clues. Dad gave her a little light that snapped around her neck. It made quite a bit of light so Miss Darcy would be able to see in the corners. Robert, Molly, Milly and Dad waited downstairs. It was too dangerous for them to go up into the burned out museum.

Miss Darcy's discovery

Miss Darcy was flying around the room looking for clues. She could not believe how much damage the fire had done. She went to the section where she knew that the Indian arrowheads had been in a showcase but everything was gone. Miss Darcy decided to start going around the shell of what was left of the room. It seemed surreal to be in this room where she could look up and see the sky. It gave her an eerie feeling. Miss Darcy really wished a few of the team members were up here with her. She continued to fly around the room shining her light in all the dark corners. In one corner she saw something shiny. She flew closer and was surprised to see one of the arrowheads in the corner. She swooped down, picked it up and flew downstairs as fast as she could go. She had found the arrowhead in the total opposite part of the building from where the showcase had been. Dad took the arrowhead and wrapped it in a tissue. He would deal with it later. It was noon by the time they left the building. Miss Darcy was glad to leave the building behind.

The team is on mission possible with team spirit the byword!

Good that Robert's family too is very accommodating as he can walk in and out in a jiffy!
The helicopter view of Miss Darcy comes handy too.

The curator does not know yet what he is up against - it will be checkmate that is bound to happen in no time; setting fire can only hasten his doom!

Lovely take Nancy, thanks - siva

Siva, thank you so much for the awesome comment. Robert does seem to be able to come and go as he wants. It really comes in handy when the team gets called out on a case. I simply cannot figure out why the curator wanted the arrowheads but there must be a really good reason. He definitely missed out on one arrowhead and now Dad has that one for evidence. I personally thing the curator is dangerous and the team should remember that at all times. I don't want them to get hurt. I'm so happy that you continue to follow the team. Thanks Siva, you are the best.

Shamarie, thank you so much for the great comment. I had to smile when I read that you feel you are with the team on their mission. I feel just like you. When Miss Darcy had to fly upstairs by herself it made me nervous. I just knew how she would feel upstairs by herself. Thank you for being such a good friend and following the team from page to page. You are the best.

Excellent edition. A whistle and a stun gun? I would say that Molly is prepared for anything. Fire is such a horrendous thing. I have to agree that seeing the sky where a roof once was is pretty freaky.
