The team is preparing for another case. Dad wants everyone on the team to be involved with this case. They have to pull the van out of the garage because the team is getting so big that they need extra room for all of them.

Molly's up before dawn

Molly was the first one to wake up. She was buried under the covers and it took her a few minutes to dig herself out. There were blankets flying every which way until Molly found her way out of bed. It was cold this morning. Mom obviously was still in bed because the fireplace wasn't lit and Molly didn't smell breakfast cooking. That was Molly's favorite time of day. She was going to have to start breakfast for mom. Oh wait there was a noise. Molly just heard the fireplace click on. That was good because at least they'd be warm. Mom was up and she'd start cooking for the team.

Molly wanted to be at the museum early

By the time Dad got up mom had breakfast ready. Molly couldn't eat fast enough. She wanted to get on the road, pick up the team and go to the museum. The sooner they got to their destination they could map out a plan and start searching for the bad guys. Robert, Sammy and Sally were already at the house. They were sitting in the living room talking to Freddy. It was his job to keep the team informed of any news updates. He assured everyone that he was very good at what he did and he would keep everyone up to date on any important information. He would not let the team down.

Starting up the old van

It seemed to take Dad forever to get his boots and winter coat on. He walked through the deep snow to the garage and opened the door. Molly watched him out the back window. She saw smoke coming out of the garage. Dad had started the van and had to let it warm up. The van was old but it did run good and would get them from Point A to Point B without too much trouble at all. It did have a few rust spots on it but that was no big deal. Mom called it an old rattle trap but that was neither here nor there. The team was glad Dad had the van. He started to back the van up and it made some really strange sounds. It was sputtering and spitting but then it kicked into gear and Dad backed up to the side door. Molly noticed the van was shaking but at least it was running. On a cold morning like this the team would be thankful for heat.

Picking up the team

Molly, Milly, Robert, Sammy, Sally and Rusty jumped in the van. There was no school today. Freddy said it was a snow day. Molly waved goodbye to the kids as Dad backed out of the driveway. They passed a playground on their way to the park and they saw a group of kids playing in the snow. It looked like fun to Molly but Milly said it was too cold to play in the snow. She was a freeze baby. When Dad pulled into the park Miss Darcy, Maggie and Spike were waiting by the road. They all jumped in the van except Miss Darcy who flew in and sat on the console. Molly had to sit in the front seat because she had motion sickness when she sat in the back of the van.

Arriving at the museum

Dad hit the gas and they went sideways in the park. Molly yelled to slow down and Robert told Dad to take his foot off the gas. Finally the van straightened out and they were off to the pet store. They had to pick up Clarissa and Katie. The girls were waiting when they got there. Rusty went in and picked up the girls and they got into the van. Everyone was excited that the team was back together again. Clarissa was a little concerned about the way the van was sliding but they made it to the museum in one piece. Dad opened the door and everyone got out of the van and walked single file into the old building. They were ready to search for clues. Miss Darcy was the first one upstairs because she flew up and landed on the window sill. Everybody followed and stood at the top of the stairs until Dad talked to the curator. At this point Dad had the whole team with him, except for Freddy who was at home. He had one duck, one bird, one squirrel, one raccoon, five dogs, one cat and two tarantulas. The curator looked horrified. The team didn't care what the curator said because they were here to take care of business.

I just hope the van does not break down with all those critters in it as it would be devastating for the spiders to be in the cold.

They have established a name for themselves by now; it is success all the way - still some tempt fate only to face comeuppance soon after!

It is perfect team work with Miss Darcy getting better than a helicopter view. The net is closing in, I can feel it in the winter chill - great images too sending shivers down the spine of those up to no good!

Thanks Nancy for another wonderful chapter - siva

Siva, thank you so much for your wonderful comment and for following the team along as they go from case to case. They have made a name for themselves and I think they are being taken serious. The curator doesn't understand what a fine team has been brought in to help in finding the painting. He will figure it out sooner or later. Smiles to you today and always!

Another wonderful chapter. The team is on their toes, and like Molly I have been up since before dawn. I am not a real fan of playing or driving in the snow either. I am loving our warm days.
