What kind of faith do you have? No faith, little faith, great faith? So determined and focused was the Canaanite Woman to get healing for her daughter that she did not care that she was compared to a dog or the fact that Jesus' disciples did not want her around. She stayed the course and received her daughter back in health.

The Faith and Determination of the Caananite Woman

Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon. A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is suffering terribly from demon-possession." Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, "Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us." He answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel." The woman came and knelt before him. "Lord, help me!" she said. He replied, "It is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to their dogs." "Yes, Lord," she said, "but even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters' table." Then Jesus answered, "Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted." And her daughter was healed from that very hour. (Matthew 15:21-28)

Take a good look at the Canaanite woman.

1. Faith is a spiritual force.

2. She went to Jesus to ask Him to deliver her daughter from demon-possession.

3. Jesus ignored her.

4. His disciples asked Him to send her away.

5. When Jesus did address her He made reference to dogs and crumbs.

6. One translation stated “oh woman your faith is something else. What you want is what you get.”

7. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. She heard of Jesus. She had proof that He was a Healer and healing others.

1. Her daughter was grievously tormented by a demon.

2. The Canaanite woman could have left Jesus’ presence – walked away and even feel disappointed.

3. She was not moved by what Jesus said.

4. She was moved by what she desired.

5. She did not care about status, feelings or looks.

6. She came for something and was not going to leave without it.

7. Her unmovable position caused faith to move to action.

8. Faith – the spiritual force works until it produces the results of what is being sought.

9. Her faith was the spiritual force that was unmoved by what was said.

10. She was unmoved by words spoken by Jesus for she knew He was her only answer.

11. She stood by what her request was.

12. She was not going to leave empty-handed.

13. She stayed focused.

14. She could have argued with the disciples but they were not her focus.

15. She didn’t get upset and anxious and walked away but she did not take position.

16. She didn’t get emotional and cried and pitied herself.

17. She could have debated whether or not He was right in calling her a dog – that didn’t matter.

18. She stayed her course.

19. She just simply believed and at no point doubted what her result was going to be.

20. She did not check the time to see how long she was standing there.

21. She was not moved by what it looked like.

1. Why is a large number of the Body of Christ leaving empty-handed?

2. We are leaving empty-handed because we are not willing to stand in the face of apparent defeat.

3. We are not willing to take ridicule.

4. We are not willing to wait it out.

I encourage you to walk in the measure of faith that God has given to you.

Prayer: Father, in the name of Jesus, thank You for infusing me with Your power to walk in faith, amen.

Miracles take place when you believe as hope and faith the side of a mustard seed will help bring the respite one so dearly need.
Robbing from Children and giving it to the dogs is the allusion that shows that the lady was robbing her own child of her innocence and feeding strangers wherein the lady proved that dogs are humble enough to pick up the crumbs from under the table and eat it, leading to her daughters' cure wherein Faith and belief in his abilities with great humility brought the respite she needed in her life.
Everyone turns people away when they don't understand the true cause, until one picks up the real reason and gives them faith to fight till they get what they need and want respite and a healing that changes the course of destiny as a whole leading them to where they want to be.

This is excellent Donna . I love the Canaanite woman , as she shows us that Jesus is no respecter of person , gender, colour or creed , but He will always honour faith wherever and through whoever it comes .
God bless you my friend

Stella: Is He faithful or what? He has not in the past nor will He in the future ever let us down.

Even in my alone times, I try to remember God's promise -- that He would never leave us nor forsake us.

faith is the state, where we feel that we are alone and no way to escape from this fearful darkness of the desert experience of the soul.
