The First Snowflake

The First Snowflake of the winter is chosen and muses about what may happen as she eagerly awaits the day of her decent.

The First Snowflake is Chosen

The First Snowflake
The little snowflake was excited. She had been chosen to be winter's first snowflake. All her friends were excited for her too for jealousy does not exist in the realm of pure consciousness where all snowflakes are formed. She had been thrilled from the moment she had been given the news in late September but knew she would have to be patient and wait until earth's northern people decided on how much snow they would create and when it would begin.
It was nearing the end of November when word to prepare finally came. She would begin floating towards earth at exactly three minutes past midnight on November twenty-eighth. It would be a slow decent at first but around 5 AM she would be caught up by a brisk north easter, as some people referred to the wind that would hurl her to and fro as she danced towards the earth followed by all her friends as she led the foray of the first snowstorm of the season!

The Decent Begins

Beginning the decent she felt the joy of oneness with the universe and yet her own uniqueness at the same time. Fear was not in her vocabulary and later as the wind twirled her this way and that her joy knew no bounds. She was alive, she was life and everything was exactly as it meant to be. When she hit the earth she would soon be covered by other snowflakes and perhaps trodden into the ground making a path for snowmobiles, skis, snowshoes and snowboards. Perhaps instead the rain would follow or the sun would return and she would then be a tiny droplet of water in a pool by the roadside. She would perchance evaporate within hours filling the air around her with fog or mist and someday become a snowflake once again. The form she took never mattered, she had always been alive and vibrantly happy and knew it was the way it was meant to be. This was who she was and why she had come into being - to live from a source of pure joy! Life existed only in the moment and right now she was excited to be winter's first snowflake!

Thank you Siva and it's good to be back. I went through a period of depression when I had no interest in doing anything. I also lost two dear friends, one a life long friend, and then came down with the flu which I've been fighting for nearly two weeks now. I'm happy to say that I am recovering on all counts. Thank you for the welcome, it helps a lot to know that someone missed me here. Blessings.
