The Friendship Knot

The poem is about celebrating Friendship Day on the first Sunday of August.

The global knot is celebrated with lamps.

I looked beyond the horizon
And took a snapshot
And what appeared on the screen
Was the awesome friendship knot.

The knot since then is speaking
From the first Sunday of August
For we celebrate friendship day
To build a bond more robust.

Over seven seas and oceans
Let’s shake the golden hand
The ocean of humanity
Shall wear the friendship band.

Friends who dwell in our hearts
They are our teeming peers
Friendship flies with golden wings
The ship that knows no years.

The globe goes a merry go round
At a three hundred and sixty degree angle
Friends revolve in merriment; hurray!
In a golden spangle.

We locked horns in conflict
The world was a battleground
Now disputes we settle, across the table
Civilization does its round.
