A poem about what I think poetry is and how it makes me feel.

The Heart of Poetry

Poetry is the winds
voice waiting to be heard,
It flutters through
the air like a soaring bird.

Poetry is a sleeping
vine waiting to
show its love,
It runs through
the veins like a wild dove.

Poetry is a black
rose swaying in
the white snow,
Hibernating waiting
to come aglow.

Poetry is a blue
heart on a rainy day
Waiting to hear
the sorrow you long to say.

Poetry is a purple rose against a blazing fire,
Heating up with longing desire.

Your first ever poem you had to write while in high school, I remember helping you find the words that brought this poem alive.

Not the first, but it is one that you helped me with. The first poem was A Rose
