The Law of Cause and Effect. Merely all an illusion?

This article is a rather controversial one. It is my own thoughts about the Law of Cause and Effect.

I am saying here that this law is over-rated. There is a much higher law that we all need to live from.

This higher law is of course the Law of love. It simply states that when we fully love, everything else in our lives will naturally fall into its rightful place then too.

There is no need to have a cause to love, just love.

The Law of Cause and Effect

This law states that nothing happens without a reason for happening.

Nothing happens by chance.

This statement is said to be in unison with the teachings of the Law of cause and effect, but is it?

If nothing does happen by chance, nothing would happen by cause and effect either.

Nothing could cause anything else to happen. Everything is just happening in the now of now being powered by love as it happens. Nothing causes anything else to happen then. This is the big illusion.

The law of cause and effect asserts that every cause has an effect and that every effect then becomes the cause of something else to happen.

This law suggests wrongly that the Universe is in constant motion, and that it moves forwards, or progresses from where it is now, by this chain of events.

One thing leads to another, in other words. This though just is not really true.

There is no linking chain of events. There is no chain.

Time does not exist either. All of these things are mere add-ons, illusionary effects that are created as falsehoods when we do not live in the present moment of now.

You reap what you sow

"Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap."

This well-known verse comes from the Christian bible.

It is from the book of Galatians in the New Testament, chapter 6, verse 7.

We reap what we sow.

Is this great observation of Jesus's really related to what we call the law of cause and effect, or was he really talking about something else entirely altogether here though?

We reap what we sow merely means that in nature what you plant will grow into what it is meant to grow into.

As a corollary to this then if you do plant evil thoughts into your heart, this evil will sprout out through your mouth then too.

There is no causal relationship going on here though. This is a direct relationship.

The potential growth is within the seed already. It is all taking place in real time, not in an elongated time period, because it is merely change and growth going on here, not really any cause or effect going on at all here.

You cause things to happen to you, because you do not fully love

The "resultingness" of anything causing it is not the end result of the cause.

This means that the result does not usually come directly from the cause that you are calling the cause. This is because this supposed cause itself is the result of something else being out of place, which then causes these things to happen.

Things are set up to happen in this way so that you might trace it all back from the result to find then this secondary cause, but which though is not the real cause. The real cause is never a cause, it is simply another experience in love.

Cause and effect is just another theory of the dual worlds. Only in God's world of love there are no cause and no effects.

All is one long sequence of love loving, being itself, and nothing causes this to happen. It just does and nothing can stop it happening except for you blocking it, and this then creates an artificial cause, because you feel that love is missing from your life somehow then, and so you look for the reason, and the cause, and then this shows you that you are the cause as you always are.

There is no other cause, but you. You are the primary cause of all of your troubles.

Love only ever works to try to help you to move past your setting yourself up as a cause. When you become cause like this you notice effects. When you live only from love, there are no causes anymore in your life, and so there are no more effects either.

All is just love, loving.

"Shallow men believe in luck. Strong men believe in cause and effect."

This quote is from that great American philosopher, and poet, Ralph Waldo Emerson, (1803 to 1882).

What do loving men believe in though?

Loving people are strong and deep people. They are not shallow. They do not need a cause to love. The effects of their loving are infinite, and yet in their unconditional loving, they know that they affect nothing of themselves.

It is all God's doing. They love, and leave the rest to God. God is the cause and the effect in one.

We are neither, or at least we should not try to be either. We only need to do God's will, and not worry about any other laws except for the greatest law of them all, to love.

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind."

This verse is from Saint Matthew's gospel, chapter 22, verse 37.

Jesus Christ told us to do this many times in the Christian bible. If we do this, we need not worry about any of these lesser laws at all. They will all take care of themselves in our lives then.

"My ideals are that I do not want ego to get involved. I do not want to think of myself as anything special. I have a mission to perform. I have a job to do. The job is to tell people the reality of life on Earth and the reality of life in the Higher Dimensions, and to make that reality more tangible …. The whole reason why these readings are so intensely focused right now is that we’re heading into a frequency shift—and that’s probably going to be your next question: what is Ascension? How is it going to happen? … The understanding that I now have is that we are passing from the third level of vibration into the fourth. And when this passage is complete, the frequency of matter on Earth, in vibrational speed, will be seen to increase. As the frequency tries to increase, it creates a great pressure on any person who is not accepting the higher-dimensional energy, because the higher-dimensional energy is the energy of love. So, any place that we are not being loving and alive at this time is going to be forcibly shown to us—and very directly—because this energy is forcing us to be more loving. We have to, if we want to stay compatible. If we’re not compatible with it, everything that’s holding us back is going to be very forcibly shown to our face."

Thanks Christopher,

I would agree here with most of what is said here, except perhaps for the use of force, "forcing us to be more loving."

"forcing" is a strong word to use here, I would prefer encourage.

There is an old Aesop's fable about the use of force, about the sun and the wind. Such gentleness of persuasion always wins out over force, I feel

The Wind and the Sun

The Wind and the Sun were disputing which one was the stronger. Suddenly they saw a traveller coming down the road, and the Sun said: "I see a way to decide our dispute. Whichever of us can cause that traveller to take off his cloak shall be regarded as being the stronger. You begin."
So the Sun retired behind a cloud, and the Wind began to blow as hard as it could upon the traveller. But the harder it blew, and the more force it blustered up, the more closely did the traveller wrap his cloak round him, till at last the Wind had to give up in despair.

Then the Sun came out and it shone with all his glory ever gently though upon the traveller, who soon found it too hot to walk with his cloak on. He simply took it off for himself.

Kindness affects more than severity.

I've read your article carefully and given it some thought. It appears to me that you are definitely on the right tract here. The law of love overrides all other laws and make them null and void. There is never any room for judgement or condemnation and this is why we are in so much trouble at the moment, we are so focused on these that we don't have time for love. There is no doubt in my mind however that we are entering a new age on this planet and it will bring change. Blessings.

Thanks Kingwell. Yes, there can be no higher law than the law of love.

Love loves, and all other laws must fit into line and bow don to it loving.

Love follows or more makes its own rules as it goes along loving. Nothing can restrict it from loving, no lower level law can touch it, or prevent it from loving fully.

Unconditional love to be specific. Expectations vitiate the true essence of love.
Well-researched and beautifully presented, my friend. Hats off to you!

yes, it does in the lower worlds, I expect Carolina.

I am talking about God though, he only loves, there is no cause for him loving as such as it is who he is, his nature. God's love and his oneness sit above our world of duality where this law of cause and effect operates, I think.

My stance is that as the bible says there is nothing new under the son and these theories are all saying the same thing with just a different spin.

a child who has been raped and tortured is not the cause, the person who raped the child is the cause of torment and years of trauma. Love is the solution to remedy the effect from the cause.

The universe is not stagnant it is fluid. Time is a man made device. the universe can have balance and imbalance like the yin and the yang

thanks Carol,

the truth can be said in many ways, we just have to see the underlying truth underneath the way it is being said sometimes, I guess.

I think that time is a man made idea too.

I think my Philosophy tutors at University would have had a field day with this piece! There are so many contentious statements here that is difficult to know where to begin!

Let's just say that chance and cause and effect are not mutually exclusive. Some things happen purely by chance and in other cases there are clearly causes of effects. Why should this be of any surprise to anyone?

thanks John, as I said these are my own thoughts, and "contention" is my middle name.

There is no such thing as chance Einstein said, and he was right if the law of cause and effect is exclusive.

If it is not and things do happen purely by chance, what chance have we all to overcome chance happenings?

Where would chance have developed from? At what stage did it come into the picture?

No, the big bang happened not by chance, and what has happened since is no cracker display, but something divinely orchestrated, no chance of it being otherwise than what it is too.

I think there is a world of difference between obvious cause and effect - I press a button and the radio starts working - and causes that are so hidden from view that they they appear to be chance happenings.

In practical terms, it is pure chance that a branch fell off a tree and hit a car being driven by Mr Smith as he drove past - of course there were causes of the branch breaking off, and of Mr Smith being there at that precise time, but unless you express that happening in terms of chance and bad luck, you are into the realms of pre-destination, which I regard as very dangerous territory philosophically.

When we get on a train is it pure chance co-incidence who we sit next to, or is there something else connecting us all together which draws us into our experiences in some way.

Something we do not as yet fully understand, I feel.

Consciousness does not work alone I feel. It works in such a connective way to bring about increases in itself in individuals as well as collectively.

Consciousness does not work by chance.

Consciousness could be said to be evolving if we could put it in those terms.

I give my take Spirited. God is love and creation is an act of pure love, bliss, highest form of ecstasy or even sacrifice for the Creator, but individuals are more affected by cause and effect theory.

I have seen in my life how some have a happy life without material possessions while those who have much are restless and not satisfied. I have also observed the rich becomes richer at the cost of the poor who are magnanimous to forgive the former. Then the rich give their "sinned" possessions to their own who lead a life of debauchery and worse - of course, there are exceptions to this rule though I have hardly seen them!

When we go against our inner awareness, when conscience is violated, that acts as a pin prick during our ride. These are cases of cause and effect and worse instance is we bequeath them to our progeny - siva

thanks siva,

perhaps I am talking about the ideal person, the perfect man Jesus.

I start with that and work my way back. I like to start from the highest point or standard and look out from there at what I think that I should see.

I do see the law and cause of effect working as it does for the less than perfect man, which is most of us including me I am afraid, but when I write these articles I try to write them from that perfect view of what things must be like at that level or could be like if we could ever reach that level of living from that high a level of love ourselves.

That is my dream.
