This is a poem about the nature of man and how the light of day can change the world.

The Little Man On the Corner or The Living Lie

The Little Man On the Corner or The Living Lie

His love lives
Deep down
In a dark hole
He calls his home.
This is where
No one speaks to him,
No one questions him.

Things Get Done

Or sure
Things get done here,
The clothes are washed
And folded neatly away.
The dishes in the machine
Ready to clean
,
The sweeping, the dusting,

Then Come Night

But then comes
The dark of night.

The impossibility of sleep
And dream.
This is his place,
His peace, his silence.
This is where he lives

He Curses Nature

And he curses nature,
He curses God,
He curses his aching legs,
His beating heart,
His life in the dark.
For these are all
He has left.

The Stories

We have all heard the stories
Of how the defeated,
The down trodden,
How the powerless rise up
When the odds
Are against them,

The Morning Light Comes

But he knows
The morning light comes

And with it
The light of sunshine.
He hates it.
He knows it will catch up to him
Without warning.
He hides his eyes from it.

It Will Catch Him

And yet it will catch him
On the bus,
Or out in the tall grass
By the garden.
That’s when he will notice it first.
He is constantly surprised by it.
The day light
Has always been
His humiliation
.

I have been writing since the beginning of time it seems, not because I want to write, but because I have too. My favorite form of writing is poetry, all kinds and types of poetry.

The depths of humiliation came with the dawning of day. Truly humiliating!

What's haunting is your depth of emotional perception, Utah.

Your poems are great because they are all personal, to me, and to you, and to us all. You write about me, through you being you, you write about you, for me to see you, thanks Utah Jay

I am living in the pit of despair, the nights are the loneliness for me too

Thank you spirited, but the poem, like you said, is about me when I was using. My whole world was a lie.
