I feel that there is too much pressure on people to "keep up with the Joneses" and we end up forgetting what the true meaning of life is and how we should measure our success.

The Measure of Success

One day when at eternity’s door
Will material possessions be of importance
Will they benefit your score
Will mankind always yearn for more

One day when at eternity’s door
Will you see your life as meaningful
Will people remember their troubles, you bore
Will your rightful place be on the floor

One day when at eternity’s door
Will your earthly success be measurable
Will it matter what brand you wore
Will people remember you with deplore

One day when at eternity’s door
Will you understand the purpose of it all
Will you see the essence of life’s decor
Will people say, that man I adore

We will complete the journey for sure, but do we enjoy the ride? Has our life been worth the while? One needs to ponder often - siva
