The Music

The story of youth, of growing up in a world that knew no pain, no heartache. A time when the only songs we sang were of love.

The Music

The Music

It’s the distant sound of dogs
baying at moon beams
and the whistles of trains.
It’s cricket’s blue night serenades
and a billion little drops of rain
tapping on summer window panes.
It’s the way a cold winter wind
always finds its way in,
and the smells
from momma’s kitchen
when bread came hot from the oven.
It’s the delicate taste of snow flakes
Melting on our tongues
when we were young.
These are the thoughts
we stirred the world with
when life was new and alive
and love was the only song
children knew how to sing.

I have been writing since the beginning of time it seems, not because I want to write, but because I have too. My favorite form of writing is poetry, all kinds and types of poetry.

And in Texas for me, it was the crackling of the thunder before a good rain. One of the things I missed while living in Colorado. This brought back great memories. Thanks!

Thanks Marqaret, I try to put something out there that is somewhat upbeat because I write so much on the darker side...Sort of a break for nice folks like you.
