The Mystery Man

Here's a little piece of fiction that strives to make a point about love.

The Mystery Man

He wandered into town
Wearing a long and funny gown
We knew not his name
And he wasn't the same
As you and me
But he seemed so free.

What came from his lips
Was sometimes like whips
But his message was love
He said fly like the dove
You must love it all
Short, fat, thin or tall.

Love even the suffering of life
And all of its strife
You may break and bend
But in the end
Love will set you free
And take you where you need to be.

Then he was gone
But his words like a song
Carried me along
They set me free
I could now see
The truth of his word
Penetrated like a sword
Straight to my heart
And no longer am I apart
From life's very heart.

Hi Steve,
A prophet has spoken through this subtle expression about himself.

"I could now see
The truth of his word
Penetrated like a sword
Straight to my heart
And no longer am I apart"
Freedom within oneself!

You are so very kind, Rathnashikamani. A prophet I am most assuredly not. That title would far more suitably fit yourself. NAMASTE.

There's always either love or fear, nothing in between. We were conceived in love but most of the time lived in fear. Thanks for the great share, Steve.

Steve, I have to say, this poem hit me in a way, I am sure it didn't the one before, or it might have. I am just saying, when you do such lovely art and everyone can relate to it and it fit their life and thoughts, in so many ways, that to me, is a work of art, for all. Well done! Thank you for sharing.:)

Love never fails..... If we would all let the words of the "stranger" penetrate our hearts, he would no longer be a stranger and love for all mankind would no longer be strange to us.
