This page is about Greek mythology. This page will discuss their different Gods and Goddesses.

The High Gods

In Greek mythology, there were several Gods that took care of ancient Greece. The most powerful of them all was the God of Thunder, Zeus. When terror reigned upon Greece, the people used to think that Zeus was not pleased at some of the actions committed by the people. The Lightning Bolt was the symbol of Zeus.

Poseidon, was Zeus' brother and he was the God of the Seas. He could manipulate the water to do his bidding. His symbol was The Trident.

Hades was also the brother of Zeus and Poseidon. He was the God of the Underworld. His job was to ferry souls to the dark void. His symbol was the pitchfork.
These were the High Gods in Greek mythology. All were responsible for the welfare of the people.

I love mythology--Greek, especially. It is the root of so many of our stories. I don't think it's taught in our public schools anymore--at least not until it can be an elective course. Too bad.
