An old man is remembered for his sea tales which were very tall.

The Old Man and His Sea

There was an old man who loved the dear sea,
But he couldn’t swim at all you do see,

So he dreamed of places where he might go,
Made up stories, pictures, which he then told,

His tales of fantastic were done so well,
Some of his hearers could see ocean swell,

They sensed the gloom and the doom in a tale,
Never knowing it was made up so well,

Fables of pirates and sea monsters near,
Brought the listener to the point of tear,

Seeing in their mind the danger so fast,
Kept them glued to his words to very last,

There was an old man who loved the dear sea,
And with his bold tales, made others love see.
