This is a story about Robert Frost, or could it be Mark Twain, or Emily Dickensen. Maybe it is a story about you, or me, or the Moderator doing his work for us, but it is a story just the same and I do hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

The Poets Death Comes One Word At a Time

The Poets Death Comes One Word At a Time

The Poet is the guardian of the heart
The builder of the two towers
Of our undying love.
The painter of words,
Things we should have known
In the early days,
Colors we should have adored
And pleaded for.

These Are Words We Never Read

Are these are the words we never read? If so
They have come back in their own good time
To point at us, to mock us,
To rattle our withered bones
In the shacking season
.
For these are the things that come willfully
In the tales of our tall tomorrows,

The trail of our years.
The tracks of our tears.

The Cold Years

Now comes the cold years.
The days when the mercury sinks down
And down in its glass spine

And the wolves run wild
In the forest and in the tall grass
Down by the river and the school yard.
The grass that winter weighted down
To slump before us in their yellow frown.

Now Is the Time

Now comes the time
Of the mourning tongue’s sad, sad songs
As it seems the Poet has died.
And soon after the Poet’s pen revolted
Fully against us

And now the Poet lies in state
Just beyond the old garden gates
And the gray towers that took that place
Listen intently to the nurses rumors
As they whisper of unfamiliar afflictions
That came in contorted forms

And did the Poet’s soul such harm.

Could it Be

Could it be the Poet is only sleeping?
Only resting from hardened travels
Down the long and winding road
And the cold, cold days that came
And melted the Poet’s colors of love and hate away.
The cold that came to riddle the Poet’s weakened heart
With rusted words and riddled shapes
That only the Poet, and the pen could paint

In such a way
As to brighten our day.

I have been writing since the beginning of time it seems, not because I want to write, but because I have too. My favorite form of writing is poetry, all kinds and types of poetry.

A good share my friend. Sometimes as the day draws to close I get out my books of poetry and listen once again to the words of the masters. Blessings.

"The Poets Death Comes One Word At a Time"

Maybe that's why it is so painful, I wish it would come more quickly and explosively sometimes....

The line is never finished until the last word is written however, I suppose...
