The Race Track

I love to go to the race track in the summer. The betting, the jockeys, the colorful silks, the paddock. It's so much fun - especially if you win!

The Race Track

I love to go to the race track,
It is so much fun to see.
I love to bet the ponies,
Won't you come with me?

The jockey's silks are lovely,
So many colors and styles.
I study the program intently,
This takes quite a while.

I visit the paddock always,
Before each and every race.
I like to watch them saddle,
And hope they set the pace.

I hope the weather's lovely,
Not too warm or hot.
I hope that my horse is willing,
To find a first-place spot.

I place my bet as always,
And then go out and see,
Which horse will win the winning spot,
And give some money to me.

I like going to the races, we maybe only go once or twice a year. My wife insists that flat horse racing in USA and Canada is more cruel than in the UK, but that National Hunt racing is really cruel and we would never go to that.
