Reunions are known for bringing back lost love. A story about a perfect made for each other couple who drift away and meet again @ Reunion. Is there a chance of love or has love died Completely!

Blast from the Past

It was the College Reunion. She didn't want to come here. She had an headache or it was the thought of reunion that was giving her headaches. She was wearing a tremblingly beautiful and sophisticated Red dress that suited her perfectly. However, She could certainly wear just about anything and look gorgeous.
"You still don't like to dance?" A whisper in her ear.
She turned around, almost chocking on her drink. No it couldn't be, that voice. How Could it be! And she saw him. She couldn't believe her ears, after all these years...
"No, reminded of the farewell?", she fumbled. "How can I forget that?Never before did I have to force a girl to dance with me", he smiled. She just looked at him. She couldn't believe it was just 5 years ago...

Friday Night Homework

It had been a tiring day. The environment was new for her, already wearing her out. It was 9 PM, she was sitting at her desk trying to finish a report she had to submit. Screw life! It's Friday night, most teenagers would be out there, having fun. But not Ananya!
She as usual had a truckload of homework!

Why couldn't my homework be over in the evening like every one else. Why does My teacher hate he for she gives truck load of homework. As she was lost in her thoughts, she heard a knock on her door.
Yeah that's what i needed, more disturbance She Said to herself .She lived alone and it was unusual for someone to turn up at this hour.

The First Sight

She opened the door. she stood transfixed, he couldn't be real. About 8 inches taller than her, dark, handsome and that smile...oh that smile

When you smile my day has a new meaning
When you smile I forget I am feeling blue,
When you smile my mood becomes upbeat
When you smile, you deliver hope to my soul

Your big smile bigger than the biggest sun,
More radiant than those powerful rays,
Your smile has the ability to make me smile
After having you I smile from the inside

A new kind of Sensation

"Hey, my name's Mittul. Heard you were new here too. You mind if I borrow your physics book? I have my entrance this Monday and I can't seem to find mine." He said.
"Er.. Ok. Lemme just look for it, come in. You live here?"
"Yeah, room no 13. But I'll probably shift out."
"Here you go." She hands him the book. " Thanks, see you in school then." They talked about school for a couple of minutes and then he went to his apartment.
She had a different kind of sensation after he had left. She could not say what it was but it was unlike anything she had felt before.
What was that?.. wait a sec girl, you have something to do, And she sat down again to finish her work.

The Perfect Love Story

Monday morning, nothing unusual. But she met him again, in break, near the canteen.

"So how was your test?" She asked.
"Piece of how have you been? You wanna eat something. ?"
'No, I've had my lunch."
"You sure! There is a nice Thai Restaurant that i know"
"No, I am good and i have never had Thai before!"
"Ok!" He Replied
"So can you show me around the school?"
And then there was no turning back. The went to the same evening classes, in the same bus, did their homework together.

It was all Perfect.

The Love Died

Sometimes when I call you,
it's just to hear your voice,
and I close my eyes and hear you
and not what you say.
And sometimes it feels as
if my life hangs onto
every syllable that you utter.

They say love is when
your heart beats fast and slow
all at the same time, but what will you call it
if it beats only for one person,
in rhythm, as if chanting their name

A year later they had to part." I love you"s became more mechanical, the feelings became negligible. They lost the connection

But never have I felt your concern
A casual "How are you?" is all I get.
Maybe you don't care at all,
you just don't feel it.

The Farewell Night

They met at farewell for the last time. She was alone and he was too. She Looked as she had stepped straight out of a period drama in a red Victorian era gown. He was dressed in a black Tux. And he asked her for the dance. They danced like no one else had ever danced before. They danced the whole night. It seemed all their problems, all their misunderstandings had evaporated.
For a moment they just looked at each other, he absentmindedly played with a strand of her hair between his fingers.
"You're beautiful."
He edged closer and held her face in his hands as she closed her eyes. Their lips met under the quiet moonlight and they kissed. After what could have been seconds or maybe several starry evenings they broke apart.

The Final Goodbye

“So, End of school, huh?” She said.
“Yeah.” Mittul replied. He was holding her hand in his
“What do you want to do, Mittul?” She Asked
“With my life?”
“Be with you.” He said with a smile
She didn't smile like he wanted me to. He Sensed something was missing.
She said with a Blank face- “ I mean what do you want to do with your career? Your Life?
“I dunno. Do what I do best, I guess. Drift along the life and see what comes.”
“Oh. Yeah. That's cool. See you later!” She had reached the corner of my house!
“When would I see you?” He said
“I’ll Call you”
"Love you" He said
“Bye, Mittul.”

Thinking back, Today I wish I had said something better than a bye. Even if I could not say anything, I should have smiled. And most importantly, I should have called him, I should have received his calls, told him about my new number. But I Didn’t do any such thing. I wish I had told him that I loved him more than words or my actions could describe and that when he smiled, I felt like he was all that mattered in the world

The Casual Talk

“Hey, Mittul. Its good to see you” (She said it so casually, just like the last time.)
“Hey, Ananya, You look great!”
"Thanks! You look Wonderful too!"
And they talked like strangers about our life's, work, movies etc. Even though they talked a lot, the soul was missing from their conversation. She was living in a shell of her own and restraining herself from him.

It’s funny how we spoke, but didn’t talk.
Sure, I said hi.
he said he liked my haircut.
But that was the bulk of our shallow hello,

even though we hadn’t seen each other since Farewell
the last day we were still close.
He saw the restraint in my once familiar brown eyes,
constructing a barrier between two used-to-be companions,
As I tried not to unearth
the awkward memories of our past

A Walk to Remember

They decided to take a walk out in the moon. It was a full moon night with no clouds. Such a Romantic weather but .... She was lost in my thoughts!
Look at the Moon, Ananya,” he said, bringing her back from her memories
Why, what about it?” She asked
Isn’t it like you?” he said. His eyes were So beautiful. His blue colored eyes glowed beautifully in the brightness of the moon.
Why me?” She had asked. He put his hand down and turned to look at her in the eyes. Softly, he said, "It brightens my life just like the way you do. Even though Clouds may shield its brightness from time to time and cause darkness. The moon will return to its original form, for this is what it does best”.

I remembered his smile when he said it. At that moment, I begun to admit that I loved him. Even in my confusion of his sudden presence in my life, I had given it a room to admit that I loved him. Him, whose presence was like a ghost, smiles angelic.

The Return of Love

She said to him in a soft tone “I loved you, Mittul.”
“Loved? Past tense?”, he said a bit surprised
“Yes! I think so.”
"But i still love you! i have loved you forever from the night we first met in your apartment!, He said it in a whisper
“Why'd you loved me so much Mittul?”

I thought you were beautiful and smart, and I loved how shiny your dark brown hair was. I liked how you weren't too loud, and you didn't wear low-cut shirts like most other girls. I loved how you were confused about everything, how your mind keeps drifting away during conversations. I love the way you smile from within even though it doesn't show on your face. I love how every dress suits you perfectly as if it adjusts itself just for you.” He Said
“I wish you'd said something! you had stopped me! Because I felt like it.'”
“Sorry, But i Tried calling you”
“Me too. But i just dialed your number, could never press talk button”
" Anyways, it getting late, I have to go now! "He said
Yeah.” She replied
He began walking away and she felt 9 worlds crashing before my eyes. “Wait!” she called him
I'd never had Thai food before.
And He smiled!

You're The Voice Inside ME

Maybe I was too blind to see
And I made myself believe
What I wanted to, and you felt it too
But it was too good to be true
You never understood me.

How I wish I could hate you, detest you, forget you
I fail, cuz you're already the voice inside me.

I teared up at most of the time- but in a good way, where you realize that love and friendship do exist in many forms and how much better they make everything. Thank you for sharing. A really wonderful story

This is a wonderful story, and so well-told. This is the kind of beautiful story that breaks the a readers heart in the very best way; the proses and phrases from your words form a world and they reach the soul to touch the very deepest parts in all of us.
