It was silent that night in the inn. Till a voice sounded to the man near the wind up clock...

The Shattered Soul of Regret

You there, start the clock
Let me hear it tick tock
I fear I have lost something
Lost something indeed
It was important yes it was
So I went out to start searching
Went searching indeed
It was alive, yes it was
During my search I found metals
Like a sweet girl finding petals
You there, turn back the clock
Please, please don't let it stop
While searching the metals melted in the fire
And oh did they glow
I felt my lost thing reaching
Its time becoming dire
That, that I did know
In the mean time I poured the metals
Like a dreamed girl finding petals
I cried as I realized
What I lost will never be found
Never, never be found
It also cried
That's when my heart started to pound
All night, all night it pound
You, I forgot the clock
Quickly, make sure it ticks and never stops
I gave up on finding what I lost
I forged a blade at a high cost
Priceless, priceless it was
But, but so was she
And now I have left thee
I find no pleasure in this thought
Still, my feelings are all for naught
You, watch that clock closely
Keep it ticking or the end be untimely
Soon I felt my heart wince
Like my princess who lost her prince
I took my blade in hand
Placing the tip at my heart
Afraid, afraid I never felt
I let it plunge with damage dealt
My soul shattered apart
Ticking my clock in hand
Oh no, the clock
Don't let it sto...

I'd say we should never have regrets, but we do, because we're human beings with good and bad traits.
