The Spirit of the Night

Sometimes it feels like something is watching you or following you in the darkness.

Spirit of the Night

The fire crackles, gives me light
Keeps at bay the beasts of night
I clutch my blade and stoke the fire
Survival is my one desire
A noise I hear from over yonder
Brave as I was I can be no longer
This sense of danger I cannot shake
The fear begins to escalate
I must be strong and in control
Or the beast will come and take my soul
I sense the beast as it circles round
Though it makes not a single sound
As courage looses out to fear
The answer I seek becomes so clear
The beast is not the source of fright
It is but the spirit of the night

Day and night cast a day and night difference in our mental makeup! The creator has given the right proportion of them. Nice poem - siva
