The Star in Me

I wrote this article as part of the requirement for a wonderful online course I took called "42daysofwriting." This course taught us how to write in the flow of consciousness genre letting my ideas flow on paper without reservation.

Gazing at the stars

As I write, I gaze from my open window towards the beautiful cerulean blue celestial sky. I see but one bright star shining its light upon me. I am reminded that light is an illumination, a pathway from the unknown to the familiar, or the known. I parallel this concept with my own quest in life to transform from the very insecure little girl of my past to the self actualized middle aged woman that I am becoming.

The journey has not always been easy, but more importantly even during the dark times there were moments where the light shone through to direct me into the right direction.

The Journey

The journey has not always been easy, but more importantly even during the dark times there were moments where the light shone through to direct me into the right direction.

My journey is far from ended, in fact in many ways it has just begun. I look at the star and see a bright sentinel provided by the heavens to guide me along the path. Its function is not to protect me from all wrongs, for it is from our mistakes that we learn many of life’s greatest lessons. It is in fact all the wrongs, the darkness and the pain that makes the quest to the ultimate light all the more important, all the more sacred.

It is from our mistakes that we can grow and move onward, if we choose to be illuminated, enlightened, encouraged, and inspired. The sentinel provides me with the security in knowing if I trust the process I shall not fail. The sentinel star provides the gateway from here on earth to the celestial bodies above. It provides me with the pathway to enlightenment.

The star is me

The floodgates of my subconscious open to release the insecurity demon that haunts me. My mind is released from the shackles of negative thinking, which I once valued as a close friend. I bask in the light of transformation, and allow in the magical power of the universe to serenade my heart, mind, and soul. The light is warm, comforting, peaceful, and yet invigorating. The light is bliss.

I look once again at that single sentinel star and I realize with a new found wisdom, I revel in the knowledge that the darkness is not an overpowering demon but a lesson to be learned. There is no day without night and there is no night without day. The world is made with these contrasts. But the universe is also in harmony. Balance is the key, for after each darkness the light will come. I has to come, it was designed that way.

Another power insight I have from gazing at my guiding star is probably the most important revelation of all. I do not need an army of stars to help me along this chosen path of enlightenment. I need but one star and that star is me.

It's okay to let your ideas flow onto the paper, but for your readership, we need some guidance to follow your ideas when reading.

Headings, paragraph breaks, limiting sentence length can help, lest your wonderful ideas and insights not register well with us.

Love your articles, Carol. you speak well of matters of the heart and mind.

sorry but this type of writing is stream of consciousness and does not require that. It is more like poetry than prose. The summary states that. And there is a flow in its style

Stars shine only when burning out in the cosmic realm, which is why they twinkle. But on the human perception, they are created to be better than the mediocre rest although many tend to misuse their shine using bodyguards who do lots of military things behind the scene including military things for safety which could include taking down mediocre lives or the lives of the ones they are jealous of. Leaving their family with eyes of pouring rain. Enjoy your fun time, all is monitored by the one above. Its paparazzi style but military warfare.

" I need but one star and that star is me."

Yes, if we could all follow our own inner light like this, the world would ablaze with all of our lights.

I enjoyed the way the words connected and flowed together Carol.
