The Thin Blue Line

The thin blue line was there to guide me, which way I did not care,
I felt I could float gently above the line and below.
Then, brought back to life with a doctor's therapeutic hand
I thank God that I am here.

The Screen

I was watching a screen, which was close to my bed, over my head.
Divided in two by a thin dark blue line, the top a delicate blue
The lower half gray, I could see the blue line float between the two
I knew not the meaning, my mind was so tranquil I cared not which way.

Faces Around Me

Around the screen were many faces, watching, wondering if I was alive.
I felt pressure on my chest but of no consequence to me, I felt free
Free to decide on which side of the line I should drift
I felt Indifferent, no urgency, just peace. Was I still alive, had I died.

The Therapeutic Hand of a Doctor

I floated and felt lazily tranquil, no decisions to make, I just wanted to drift.
Then the pressure on my chest ceased and a sudden violent pain
I opened my mouth, gasping and shouted, drawing in air, I had not died
The doctor had pressured my chest so hard, I opened my eyes, I must be alive.

A Dream

I was screened and then I dreamed of what was not true
Taken down to the basement amongst equipment and boxes
I vaguely knew I was in the wrong place, I felt tears on my face
I lifted my head, then fell back into the darkness and knew nothing more

Thank God for Your Mercy

I awoke alone, food on a tray and a television. "Hey, I'm here".
A nurse came by, smiling and so full of life, I'm weak and alarmed
A blood pressure cuff tightened on my arm, my temperature taken.
I had survived the unknown, God Blessed me, I had awoken unharmed.

This is a real time story, and I feel sad ..
It seems to me a fight between life and death-
Peace and confusion...
I am worried.. what next..
As may be the age is not our side.........
